it might also help that i have 105% magic find at all times? not sure.. i seem to get more legendaries than others on a regular basis (not out of whim) with 105% magic find
maybe magic find is bugged?
I think you are extremely lucky...
Yeah, there was a guy on reddit that did 1k caches and didn't get one. Obviously extremely UNLUCKY but I don't think they're a common drop at all.
I don't actually think it applies to kadala/chest/piles/caches though.
Obvious question but worth asking, act 1 caches only right? Anyways, I would probably focus on gearing up elsewhere (rifts, full group, highest torment/efficiency) and waiting for the buff to caches next patch. (More legs overall, higher chance on torment, etc)
*edit*
Poorly worded my post, but basically MF scales down with quality of gear. It will apply 100% to blue items (10% drop chance with 100 mf = 20%) less to rare, and only 10% to legendaries (1%+100mf=1.1%) (Source)
I'm going to guess it isn't as simple as that and actually has some formula behind it, meaning it probably scales down to nearly 0% for "premium" drops like SoH/Witching Hour/Ice Climbers and other BiS endgame drops. It isn't a bad stat to have so long as you aren't sacrificing anything important for it, but it isn't nearly as relevant as it used to be, because of how scarce it is on gear.
Torment legendary find does not affect caches at all until next patch so I would assume MF doesn't affect them either. There is no official word on it, but the only rumors of it working are because kongor was mf gear swapping before talking to tyreal. I wouldn't put too much stock into his methods though...
Man I really wish they would implement some sort of trade.
I know they don't want an auction house clone to revive, but the most frustrating part of the game right now is when someone you know is rolling in gear you're looking for but can't find, isn't even using it...and you have pieces they want that you aren't using either...and they both just sit in your (small) stash.
Love the game to death but damnit why can't I trade with friends ;(
I've done 1k bounties with 3 rings, but none has the crit roll
Also doing rift it forward with the excess rift keys = quick blood shards + xp
grats on danetta set! the clones are really insane lol
also good luck with a1 normal split farming dude, shit's probably the most single frustrating thing to do in d3 (as far as farming for a single item goes)
also rift it forward with the excess keys is a really smart idea - free forgotten souls, and you can roll the shards into SoJ + Unity rings (maybe even stuff like cindercoat, magefist if you need ones w/ better rolls)

^ tell me about it dude..
i've legitimately gotten 3 full raekor sets (that's 15 pieces), 2 full IK sets (over 12 pieces, not including weps)
and FIVE earthquake shoulders, but not a SINGLE earthquake glove nor pants.. really wish i could trade & barter away (probably not gold) the raekor pieces.. i know so many people who want the set
wish they would buff %lightning builds and introduce more shit like %poison + poison skills and %physical.. getting tired of pidgeonholed into only %fire builds to be viable on t5+
A gold auction house for only legendaries would be fine.
The problem with the old auction houses was Loot1.0 not the auction houses.
Was it?
It really encourages not playing the game either way. Loot1.0 was a major problem, yeah, but I much prefer the current method of having to play the game to get your gear and not just either 1. Buying it with $ or 2. Accumulating massive amounts of gold, usually through auctioning, to buy whatever you want.
It was a bad mechanic that stifled gameplay and I love the fact they've removed it, as I...actually play diablo now and enjoy getting items.
But I would like to trade.
I've thought of a few things they could potentially do to allow trades without communities basically reviving the auction house and the associated problems with the auction house.
No gold transactions. Literally; cannot trade items for gold and cannot trade gold period. Items should have to be traded for items of similar value; legs for legs, sets for sets etc. I think this would prevent gold inflation and the obvious problem associated with bidding for items with gold (rich get richer, and many are still rich from their previous auction endeavors. Prices get jacked up and super inflated and elite items can only be traded by those who also abuse the auction house) . This would also allow them to maintain the reasonableness of their gold sinks.
And given the fact that blizzard obviously only wants trading among friends, given the fact you can only give items to people in game with you when they drop for a limited period of time...they could also introduce a limitation on how many people you can trade with, that is based on the seasons concept they'll be introducing (your trades in terms of people you can trade with would be capped at a certain amount and reset every season). This would ideally limit players to trades with people they interact with regularly, rather than people going out into random market communities just to snag all the items they want to complete their builds.
Either way I wish we could trade in SOME fashion rather than everything account binding so quickly. It ends up locking you into particular builds and makes it frustrating when you're looking for one more item to spruce up your build/complete a set etc.

RMT spams will revive once bliz enables slightest forms of trading
this is sadly true
but i think a barter system would be nice (putting up X set in return for Y set, having both players confirm)
of course, this won't prevent trades made outside of diablo 3 (on sites such as d2jsp), but it'll alleviate the frustration of having 5 of a single set piece while not having any of that ONE piece you need to complete an insane 6 set effect
