Infinity isnt a real number though. It is called a imaginary number, as it isn't definate thus it technicly doesn't exist that is also why no mathmatical theorum besides ones made up by idiots use infinity.
In due time once all modern architecture is gone it will be called ancient. Because no matter how hard we work to perfect something, as time will progresses we shall dwell upon how imperfect it really was.

Intelligence is only a value if you harness it.

I disagree. Infinity may not me a number which can be expressed with a figure, it contains tho all figures in the "Real" domain of figures. This means that for engineering (and students of it such as myself) will find it a very usefull number. Also the number infinity isnt only used for stupid mathematical theorums made up by idiots

the number infinity is mainly used to recalculate certain formula's for their truthness. but also to derive mathematical theorums

but thats my opinion. Want to discuss it?

Generally, the scientists and mathematicians deal with the abstract, and can thus use infinity in their work.

Engineers, however, deal with the practical, and, as such, have no use for infinity.

As a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student, I've never used infinity.

I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.

but isn't there the chance that a googolplex of 0's won't ever come in pie even though it's infinite? this is a nice thread, gets my mind going!

                *pi, not pie

It never ends. Ever. That means that not only will a googleplex of zeroes occur at one point, it will occur infinite times.

Does it mean an infinite number of zeros occur at some point?

Everything in this world has a limit. The end of space is not an "infinity" away, it's expanding all the time but it always has a distance we can compute. A computer cannot compute infinity because.. it will take an infinity to calculate.

Its impossible. This is true because ANY number multiplied by 0 is 0 so here is what the equation should look like.

                          Infinity * 0 = 0

Lets put it this way, Infinity=Endless.

Infinity is not a number, and you can not add anything together to get infinity. it's not that difficult to understand.

wouldnt infinity multiplied by zero be zero? after all anything multiplied my nothing is nothing

                                0*0=0 is a simple thing

nothing multiplied by nothing = nothing

                                100*0=0
                                infinity*0=0
