Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
That's what I thought as well, until I caught this series of messages on my Skype:
[28/02/2015 3:50:28 AM] Nathan: http://pichnopop.net/about.html can you make any sense of this as far as the extent of permission applying to ffr?
[1/1/2015 4:31:14 PM] jimerax: I missed a message from 1 month ago, but songs of this artist can be used for FFR without restriction, or contact
[1/1/2015 4:31:28 PM] Nathan: oh?
[1/1/2015 4:31:32 PM] Nathan: everything from P*Light?
[1/1/2015 4:32:36 PM] jimerax: anything but songs copyrighted by a company
[1/1/2015 4:33:01 PM] jimerax: basically, almost everything
[28/02/2015 3:51:05 AM] Caliber / Fullerene: o cool
[28/02/2015 3:51:09 AM] Nathan: i wouldnt touch anything used in sound voltex or whatever the newest hip japanese rhythm games are these daysComment

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
sounds like he's giving the okay for all music on his own label without permission (can't tell if this only applies to his own music on the label or not), BUT any music he submits to other labels requires their permission, not his
i thought trigger happy was the original so i apologize for that, but that doesn't explain why nathan sent in oml remixLast edited by lurker; 03-4-2015, 08:25 AM.some feathery f**k

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
Trigger happy remixed by Hommarju would require Hommarju permission, right?
What would be wrong with sending OML P*Light remix? It's not contracted to any game, right?sounds like he's giving the okay for all music on his own label without permission (can't tell if this only applies to his own music on the label or not), BUT any music he submits to other labels requires their permission, not his

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
Oh, yeah, this is true. The .sm file has the artist as P*Light, so I thought that it was the artist doing a different version of their own track, which would have been fine. The user who sent the email mentioned that they had contacted the artist about permission and hadn't heard back yet. Didn't specify if P*Light or Hommarju was contacted.
I'm not seeing anything on Hommarju's pages about secondary music composition use, so it looks like he'll have to be contacted about it. I'll remove the file for now.Comment

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
I'm send that song, so... I need the permission from Hommarju's? I think P*Light music has the permission for using his music on FFR (I got that info in the reply after send the submission of that song), but the remix is in his soundcloud account.Oh, yeah, this is true. Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
it's signed to beatnation records (aka bemani's label) konami digital entertainment, therefore according to p*light's site we would need permission from them (not happening)
p*light's site explicitly mentions "circles" which pretty much means labels as far as music is concerned
something something eos
due to the wording p*light used and because it appeared on sdvx two months before the extended version was released, i would be wary of using the original; i think konami must have some sort of license on it since it appeared on one of their cds
as far as the remix goes, i think the statement on his site applies to all music exclusive to pichnopop, not just p*light's own
on a related note if anyone in charge of the batches thinks i'm being hypocritical because i submitted ongaku (permission for leaf's music was obtained after it was released in sdvx and he said nothing about not using it), feel free to remove itLast edited by lurker; 03-4-2015, 07:35 PM.some feathery f**k

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
i'd argue that it should've been removed as soon as ginkiha said not to use it but on second thought it's not really applicable since the song came out years before it got into sdvx, and since nothing happened to the bms version i'd assume it's safeLast edited by lurker; 03-4-2015, 05:08 PM.some feathery f**k
