Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
As of right now, five out of nine sets of notes for the 2014 September/October batch have been completed. One was completed early in May, three in July, and one in August. Two of the remaining sets of notes are about halfway finished, and two slots are still in limbo.
A new, more formal batch planning system will be implemented in an effort to stop these gaps from happening.
Starting Wednesday, there will be 2-week sprints monitoring the progress of the batch, and judges will be required to log their hours. One of the sets is close to being fully judged, and we'll be returning to song releases with 3 songs as soon as more files are accepted.Originally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment

If this site runs any slower these songs will be old classics by the time they make it into the game.Comment

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
God damn I have so many backed up submissions.
What do people even want to see in the game nowadays, I have so many dozens of files that I could submit any kind. Give suggestions or something.
v2s of old shitty files? Hard stuff? Newb friendly stuff? Jumpstream? Jacks?Last edited by hi19hi19; 08-21-2015, 09:56 AM.Comment

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
hi19hi19 FFR is full of easy files, but there are like less than 20 files which are harder than diif 90. Hard stuff please!
Originally posted by ilikexdYour strengths and weaknesses may never change, but they will still get better as you do, albeit disproportionately of course. You're bad at jumpstream, so just play jumpstream files. Play them for hours. Play ones you have to struggle to SDG, and play ones hard enough to make your hands and arms burn. Then play them some more. Then, the day after the next, play them again. If you aren't already doing this, you can't say you're stuck. Plateauing doesn't really exist, if you aren't improving it means you haven't put in the effort needed to improve, or your effort has been misapplied. It's more of a problem at really high levels, but never totally concrete.Comment

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
A good number of hard files I've made have already been submitted by other people. It's really hard to come up with legit 90+ songs that other people haven't found already.
I have a great file for A.Q. Children, for example, but it's already been taken by mi40

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
I had submitted many v2s, to files such as Death Piano and System Doctor. They had to be removed from the batches without being judged.
The problem is, if I were being "strategic" about how I submitted, they are low priority for me to re-submit. I have stepped songs much more likely to have someone else step them, which are the ones that I "should" submit first. By this judging system, it's not file quality, but timing that determines if you get your file in game for a popular song.
I might just say fuck that though and give up my work on more popular songs and just resubmit the v2s, we'll see.
Thanks for your input. Good to know that v2s could be well received if I do submit them.Last edited by hi19hi19; 08-22-2015, 02:40 PM.Comment

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [Regular batch: OPEN]
I kinda stopped submitting since February too after the batch slowed down, but only have 5-8 things I could really send, so I guess I'll do that now rather than never, and they can be added to whatever batch.
I'll send Le carnaval des animaux, Movement no. 14 ''Finale'', Major League Can Can, Syncopatriarch, The Scales of Strangeness, and Unpause the Heat.
I also made another version of Death Piano, lol.Comment

Yeah the issue is strategic submitting due to you having the backlog you have + others wanting to chart songs.I had submitted many v2s, to files such as Death Piano and System Doctor. They had to be removed from the batches without being judged.

Me I just kinda pick stuff and sub it at random since my backlog isn't too bad. x.x'
Wait, what's your cap because you could kinda go like 3/4ths new stuff and fill the last with a V2 here and there and kinda get the best of both.Last edited by XelNya; 08-22-2015, 06:00 PM.Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun beepComment
