I'm rather split on the hacker discussion.. I have a lot of fun experimenting with the different character classes and it is a pain leveling them all up. The thing about Maple is that you have to stick to one character and really stay dedicated to get anything out of it. Hacking makes leveling up easier and thus, you can enjoy the different classes at higher levels. For me, building online relationships is not that rewarding. Sure, I love having friends to talk to online, but that isn't why I played maple. Hell, if I was into the whole community thing I would probably be on Bera. My point is.. people have different ways to have fun. Some like breaking apart the game and finding the errors and bugs in it; some people like to interact with people and build relationships to make the game more enjoyable; and there are people like me who like playing around with the different character types to see which one is the most enjoyable in the end.

I'll probably never play GMS again because of the hacking problem, but I'll still play JMS.

And yes, you guys need to level in JMS (those who still play). We need people to Ludi PQ :<

I tried to run MS on my computer a while back but it didn't work due to compatibility problems with Vista (pre-installed btw). Is there anyway to work around this?

Run in compatibility mode for XP.

What do you mean "freezes"? Does it just close with a black screen? Does your computer as a whole freeze? Any error messages?

Just run something that masks your IP as an American one. You can do that, right?

As for the hacking thing: There are tons of reasons to hack. Having a pro-hacking server would accomodate the vast majority of them. Sure, some people will still want to hack just to vac monsters into afk people. The people who just want to tinker would get their way. The people who want to try every character class and various builds would get their way. The people who don't want to hack at all and keep ranks competitive would get their way. It'd help a ton, really. =\

Making a server with like 100x exp(like a test server where chars are wiped sometimes and updates are tested before they're released) would stop a lot of hackers. A lot of people just want to see the higher levels.

it completely freezes for a moment and then goes to black and gives me a "Connection to server has ended" message.

Tosh, now that you mention it, several versions other than KMS have gotten test servers. I'd like to see GMS get a test server, cuz there are things I'd like to test (whether or not luck adds to damage, for example) that would just way too long at normal rates.

If luk added to damage, lukless would deal less damage.

More worthy of testing in my opinion are magic damage formula, heal formulae (HP healed and damage dealt), magical accuracy.

Having a hacker server would pretty much make everyone happy. Hackers get to hack, legits have their maps.
