Re: TWG XLII: Raiders of the Temple of the Last Crusade

Alright, well besides DBP and mead that I've mentioned before of my somewhat-suspicions, I really have nothing else to go on. I'm not too sure of mead, maybe it's because he hasn't played in a while and wants to appear human...and maybe DBP tried to take a risk and become important in the game. I don't feel like either of them are truly that wolfish to me, so I guess I'll just go with a random vote today on sertman because he sux.

I've now with Iggy on this one. If we're going to lynch someone active and helpful as a human, we should have better reasoning. Fojar's plan was pretty brilliant, but it was anything but foolproof.

      So, I propose offing Nija

This was his first non-game-mechanic post he made. This on it's own really doesn't seem outwardly suspicious, but it is the perfect post of someone who doesn't want to be noticed. I think it's a bit suspicious he would question Fojar. I mean, I haven't seen how Foj plays as a wolf, but I doubt there are many wolves in the history of the game who are ballsy enough to stick their neck out on the line and put themselves in the spotlight like he did. I can't see how the first thing that comes to mind out of that whole situation for him is "lol what about fojar"

This post was the one that really turned me on to the idea of nija being a wolf. It's the perfect "ride the wave" post. He doesn't declare himself one way or the other, and he really doesn't say anything at all. I mean, theorizing about someone's possible changing of attitude so they don't become predictable is such an abstract and ridiculous basis for a suspicious, I don't see why he'd even post about it.

So, this vote doesn't have all that much behind it, I understand that. This being said, I think we are better off lynching nija than DBP, since nija is far less active, and I really don't see him being useful, based off his day 1 activity. Add this to the suspicions I detail in this post, and you have my day 1 vote.
Alright, previously, I was thinking I would probably vote either Wilkin or Observer. Obviously because of low activity..

      But..

I really like what Mead said. His post offers a little more than just offing someone because of inactivity. This way, at least, we have someone who's inactive and suspicious.

Granted, Wilkin and Observer are FAR more inactive and that will count against them a lot (especially later on when they continue to do nothing..). But, Nija's been inactive, too and it really doesn't seem like he's thought about his vote much, as Mead generally stated above.

Although it's only a little suspicion, I still feel like it's justified.

I think Mead made his post well and it's not really out of nothing, because I sort of had the same feeling. Not much but I thought about it. It's not impossible..

I don't know Wilkin or Observer. But maybe they'll have a change of heart and decide to play more?

You can hope. Either way, we can deal with them later. What if we find they have some ridiculously important role and we just wasted it by killing them early?

      Nija.

Re: TWG XLII: Raiders of the Temple of the Last Crusade

Alright, I don't know why the other quotes didn't show up but whatever.

I forgot to add that I sort of suspect DBP, too still.. But I really don't want to kill him because he's actually DOING something. I've talked to him several times on AIM and at least I know he's around. It really would be stupid to kill him off early because whether he's a wolf or not he's actually doing something and I'm leaning more towards human than wolf, in that debate, anyway.

Those are just my thoughts currently on the whole DBP deal.

Re: TWG XLII: Raiders of the Temple of the Last Crusade

            k here w go

            1) DBP. Regardless of the mess that he's gotten into, there hasn't been much of a response from him about any of it lately. I'm not sure whether to make that out as a wolf conceding his being caught or a human conceding his efforts to save himself. Between offing him and a random person, it probably wouldn't be too much of a difference in the long run, as DBP'll probably be lynched in the next couple days, unless something big comes up.

            2) Iggy. While it's usual for Iggy to say the things he does about lynching inactive players, this time it seemed a little off to me. Not necessarily wolfy, but I just got an odd feeling from it. We'll see if anyone becomes of it.

            3) Talisman. I think he's still being helpful, regardless of Fish's post on him. While they are shorter than usual, he's still being active and conversational, and that's good enough for me. This makes me look at Fish a little differently.

Those are my main thoughts at the moment, but there's still time for some of it to change. Jurs for the time being.

Kilga makes an excellent point. And it just seems to me that it's more likely that he panicked and decided to risk faking having an artifact that would make him look wolfy than lie for the reasons he stated, which don't even make any sense given the artifact he had at the time.

All of you currently voting for disco are on my *** list.

Many of you have complained about inactivity on this thread, and yet you're only helping the problem by lynching off active people.

I'm going to ignore the fact that a couple of morons voted for me. No one has answered my question: What do we have to go on to trust fojar?! He's a bold wolf when he's a wolf, and he's been pretty damn bold. If you haven't picked up on that then you need to reconsider waking up tomorrow.

Re: TWG XLII: Raiders of the Temple of the Last Crusade

As much as I haven't been around, I've still been following the game, reading through it 3 times a day roughly and from what I've seen, there seem to be a few people acting a bit odd to me.

Fojar and DBP have definitely given everyone something to talk about and I'm not going to deny that they both look hugely suspicious. However, People like Talis, with his lack of activity that's always looking odd and Kilga being... Kilga, which always seems wolfy, I don't really know what to do.

Above all else though, I've always been suspicious of Fish in the games I've played with him. I don't have much time to find his one post at the moment, but something about his sort of bandwagonish vote struck me as a "yeah, let's get rid of him" thing. So with uncertainty in the DBP vs. Fojar thing, Fish is getting my vote.

                      Phantoms: DBP, Rioting

As the day drew to a close, the town was once again called to gather before the mayor in the town hall. The townspeople looked more scared than before, as they file into the rows of folding chairs, but they also have the burning passion of vengeance in their eyes. You get the feeling that these people want some blame placed, whether it benefit the town or not. “We have gotten more reports and sightings that lead us to believe the monstrous beasts are still at large within the walls of this fair town. It is for this reason that we have decided to conduct a public lynching.” You hear a few female voices behind you gasp, but at the same time, the overall feeling of vengeance seems to over-power them. “The leads we have, along with the general consensus of the town, lead me to believe it is in the town’s best interest to lynch Nija. We detained Nija earlier today on counts of suspicious activity, and have decided to conduct the lynching here at this very meeting. Guards, bring him forward.” Nija is slowly marched in at the hands of the town’s guard and led to the makeshift gallows behind the mayor’s podium. He isn’t struggling one bit as he’s slowly walked to his death. He has the look of an innocent man that knows his fate is unavoidable, but then again, don’t they all…

“We have high hopes that this display will cause the murderers to think twice before striking again, if indeed we are facing more than one, as reports indicate. I want you all to go home, and lock your doors. Stay inside at all times and do not leave for anything. We can only pray that this disaster ends here, tonight, and that we all rise with the warmth of the morning sun.”

Nija has been lynched and it is now Night 2. I need PMs from everyone that has a "useable" artifact. If you are uncertain or if I wasn't clear in your PM (don't recall) then feel free to ask me. I also need PMs from all thieves and the wolves. Actions will take place in the order listed above, and response PMs will be sent out accordingly. I'm going home for the weekend, so my computer schedule might be a bit less frequent than normal, but day will start by Sunday when I return to campus, if not sooner. I'm trying to give a little more time for the night PMs, in response to the questions I'm getting over everything.

I don't know about wolves, but when I vote I give priority to who I think is a wolf over who I think will talk the most.

I hope nija was the right choice and certainly DBP isn't off the hook. I saw fishfish called for the decepticons to come out and I think he's right on that. If you're human and holding one, there's no reason to hide it. What I'm wondering is if we can trust the perceptions enough to build private alliances of "perceived" players because certainly establishing a base of trust is essential. Another strategy I was thinking about was one that someone mentioned the wolves could try - collecting the powerful artifacts and using the theives to steal them back and forth from one another in order to hold on to them. I don't see why that wouldn't work for us and we certainly have an advantage over the wolves in that we have the master theif. Either way, what happens in this next night phase will help us decide where to go forward. I'm home from college for the weekend and on dialup but I should be around and intend to participate. If you want to talk to me and I'm not on AIM, send me a PM. Ciao.
Without irony, this signature wouldn't be funny.
