Hope you like it The mouse action on this version in my opinion is so much better (cleaner, less annoying, efficient, etc) than any other version.

Is the noteskin stuck with that metallic-looking skin? I'd rather just have regular note like in the official version.

Oh and here's something. For when you are testing the file and you hit a freeze, you can barely even see if you hit it or not, because the light that illuminates the receptor is faint and on top of the hold. Is there a way to make it more noticeable, or even as if it were in SM where the freezes gets cut off at the receptors?

It's not stuck with metallic, you can do the regular noteskin by going tools->options, then uncheck "enhanced noteskin."

I personally like the metallic noteskin, but this is not the first comment I've had about the noteskin. Should the standard noteskin be the default??

I'm not sure I understand the thing about the freezes....

Do you think you could have notes flash as they pass over the targets? Should be brief, like +/- 10 milliseconds or less so long as it's equally distributed on both sides

They already flash when youre using practice mode and you get marvelous or perfect, etc...

You mean, have them flash as if they were on practice mode, but you're not practicing?

Version 1.50 BETA 5 is out, featuring:
+ In case you missed it in Beta 4, SM4.0 Rolls and Lifts are now editable.
+ Fixed arrow select bug when undoing, and the previous operation used arrows at a different size.
+ File properties can now be accessed through the Level Manager (also you will see some dummy menus for other game types - not yet supported) - There will be many changes to the level manager/File properties in the coming months as other game types become supported.

Is it possible to snap to arbitrary note intervals (20ths or 36ths for instance) or swing beat/half beat intervals to an arbitrary ratio (3:1, 5:2, 2:1, 5:3, 3:2, 4:3, 5:4 for instance) that would convert to the nearest 192nd when exporting?

Not yet. If there is enough demand, I can try to think of something, assuming that the solution in every case is just to fit the odd note to the nearest 192nd. However, that is a less than optimal solution and I'm reluctant.

EDIT: Since you seem to have been around for awhile, if you can think of a more elegant solution where odd note types can be snapped-to perfectly, please share. I suspect at this rate it'll require an SM format rewrite, since success of the SM "block" format is realized by the least common denominator of all the note types being used in that measure (so worst case scenario is a block with the number of lines equal to the least common denominator of all the numbers between 1/1 and 1/192, which is enormous and likely unsupported by SM - correct me if i'm wrong).

You can have it snap to 192nds immediately or when you export as .sm/.dwi. The program can handle note intervals finer than 192nd internally right? Just warn the user that the higher they set the bpm the more accuracy will be retained.

No, the note snap is set to 1/192 max in ddream (and cant change without an engine rewrite).

You might be referring to the max audio resolution, which is 1 sample. However, samples are correlated to snap values ultimately.

EDIT: It can be possible to increase the internal snap to 1/240 or some factor like that, but that is not trivial, and even then it wont support every odd note type internally.
