It says that in the instructions, Afro. Try going any Japanese website after you've checked that box and it will prompt you to download the Japanese language packs. You could go to like, www.google.co.jp or something and it'll probably ask to do it. You can always get stuff online, so you don't need the CD, really.

So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.
Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O -
It doesn't work for me. I went to control panel, regional language settings, and I found that I did not have Japanese installed on my computer. So I went to Languages and tried to download East Asia Languages but before the download finished, it said that I need to locate the Windows XP CD for a file.

That's odd. I got my Japanese language pack when I tried to watch Xiao Xiao back in the day. I got prompted to install it, so I did and it worked just fine.
PS:

My character name will either be sillysilly, goosegoose, or mountainmountainmountain in Japanese. I have to find the mountain character on Character Map or something. I would use mountain because, other than tree, it's the only Japanese character I know. Hmmmmm, I could do treetreetreetreetree or something. :O
Oh wait, got it. 山山山山山 FIVE MOUNTAINS LOL
Quick edit: I'm still like, halfway away from downloading it all. Big file, server is halfway around the world, etc.So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

I made a character on Sakura server. His name is onikuro. Which means demon cat. Or black demon. I forget. Oh, btw... just as I was strolling perion...

sigh, and that was a noob...
O_o
EDIT: A pic of the shops in the Free Market... I just found this interesting. Everything over here is much cheaper than in gms and people are friendly, even if you don't speak japanese. I'm in server Sakura by the way.

I'd prefer not to.
But you all go ahead, I want to catch up to you L50ers anyway. Even though I'm piled up to my neck in work and I don't even have time to do the work between my grandfather's extended funeral and Christmas activities. Ugh.Comment

Somebody already pegged me as an American. xD

I think he's on a different server than yours are. I will make a new character named 山山山山山, I suppose. xD Don't get too far ahead, guys. I'll want to play gMS more often than jMS, so you'll probably speed ahead. Unless, of coure, everybody starts playing jMS and I have people to talk to. In which case I will play it more.
PS: 1.25x exp is fun.
EDIT: Maybe I should make my sn 私は日本語を知らない。
:P
EDIT2: People are fighting over selling me a +3 int circlet on basilmarket. YAY THE PRICE THEY'RE SELLING FOR IS LOWERING WHOOHOO!!So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

Sigh, my computer does not have japanese characters on it and I don't feel like downloading them. All my conversations are extremely stupid because I don't know that much japanese.
Dude: Blah blah blah
Me: Bokuwa nihango wakarimasen
Dude: blahblahblah
Me: Watashi wa baka. eego wakarimasuka? Romanji?
Dude: www laugh

Damn, I'm not getting Jms. I know I haven't been part of the MapleStory "scene", but it seems rather screwy that I would spend all this time working to get a character so I can party with youse guys only to have you switch over.
Plus, I don't know a lick of japanese.
It just seems rather blah to switch over just because they have fifteen more monsters than we do...
Couldn't it wait?

Actually they're way ahead. There are a ton of reasons to switch.
I however have had a ton of problems. I think I'm just gonna stay on gMS. it's not worth restarting my computer every time to switch, because my computer is a bitch when I restart it.

You actually do not have to restart your computer every time. Just leave your computer in Japanese as it does not effect anything else really. And, you can still play GMS. Start, Programs, Wizet, Maplestory. Both of them run fine on my computer. How do you whisper and party with people? I know you have to say party and whisper in japanese, but does anyone know what it is and if I can speak in romanji or do I have to speak in kanji? JMS has X1.25 exp, so it does make things a little faster for everyone who is thinking of not wanting to start over. In 20 minutes, I got to level 9.
