1) Power Ores are worth like 5k each. If that much.Originally posted by AfrobeanPower Crystal Ores are worth 100k+?
I have like 2 mil sitting on my mule then haha
EDIT: Squeek, why do you only have 7 mesos?
2) I have 7 mesos because I know how to edit screenshots so the amount of money I have does not show. The more difficult part is editing videos so that the amount of money I have does not show. Believe me, I have much more than that. I don't store anything other than items on my mules.
Reason being that I have been taking a long-running stand saying that Clerics are poor and people should not make Clerics to make money. Then again, I could show off the amount of money I have and explain that I got it all from partying. Either way, it's a lie that I have to keep up to uphold this clause. I just do not want people to make Clerics for money and clog up the undead locations with their Clerics which disables REAL Clerics from leveling up.
The reason I have money right now is because a level at Zombies returns almost exactly the amount of mesos as EXP I need to level there. I need 3.7 million EXP to level to 82. The other reason is because I found a Thorns and sold it.
BUT, this money isn't for me! I hardly use any money on myself at all. I keep money to support my friends. I've already given my friend well over 50,000,000 for stuff for his Bandit, and see where it has gotten him?

In case nobody has seen this yet:
7 hour patch seems like a bit much for just Torr's Quest or just pets. Hopefully by tomorrow we'll have 3rd job. :OOriginally posted by MapleGlobalMapleStory will be going through a scheduled patch on Tuesday, December 20th.
All users are advised to safely log off by then.
<MapleStory Patch>
- Server : All game, cash shop, and web servers.
- Time : Tuesday, December 20th, 5:00 am ~ 12:00 noon GMT
(12:00 mn ~ 7:00 am EST)
Both the game AND the website will be unavailable during the patch.
Thank you, and Happy Holidays Everyone!!
-The MapleStory Staff-So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.
Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =OComment

Torr's Quest didn't even need a patch. Just a Server Check. If all it takes is a Server Check to put it in and take it out, then it is just another SC to put it back.
Likely the 7 hours is to put in 3rd jobs and 70+ drops along with the Pets. In any event, this will be the most rockin'est patch EVER.
It's a shame I have work tomorrow morning =(

NO
WTF WIZET
WHY CAN'T YOU HAVE DONE THAT ON A DAY THAT ISN'T WHEN I GET A BREAK FROM WORkING LIKE CRAZY?! >=( I HAVE TO LEVEL!
EDIT: Oh wait, is that an "a"? Cool. Extra leveling time.Comment

Level 42, 60%. I kill jr. lioners in 1 hit about 60% of the time. But still, leveling is so slow there, but I dont' know where else to train. I tried other places like dangerous valley, but I use way too many pots for what it is worth. I'm just saying you level fast because you were at level 3x when I was a 4x archer and you passed me now. XD Sweet, now that third job is coming, Scania is going to be full as hell. A pain in the ass to get on to the server now...............Originally posted by -Fallen-Sounds good Noah, thanks for the advice
I was only killing red ones cause I'd hope to find a 60% Claw Scroll :P
EDIT: Ckj, what level are you at? You should be able to kill them in 2-3 hits at level 30 and 1hit KO them at 36-38 or so. They are like FireBoars only a bit or slightly more health.. I forget =\

I know you said this a while back, but I figured I'd go ahead and say that your build isn't exactly the best idea. Ice Strike is 50% stronger than lightning, but it also has twice the range. I suggest you read this thread on SW about 3rd job mages, but basically, Thunder Spear is way slower than comp. Plus, and you may not realize it as much cuz you take freezing for granted, but freezing is extremely useful. There are so many times that I wish I could freeze stuff because it would keep me from being hurt at all. I/L comp is awesome because you can freeze things and keep killing them. Also, a lot more things are weak to ice than are weak to lightning, and ice-weak things will take 175 dmg from I/L comp rather than 170 dmg from Thunder Spear. That, plus comp is a lot faster means that you'll be able to do way more damage to fire things over time with it.Originally posted by ImEric12I'm maxing Thunder Spear first, and it'd probably be beneficial to put a point into booster fairly quick. After that, I'll probably alternate between booster and amplification. I wish I didn't have to use booster, but I hear thunder spear is pretty slow, so... yeah.
I think I'm gonna end up going with Elemental Composition over Ice Strike. Ice strike is only 90 m.atk, which will be like nothing when I have 170 m.atk. Thunder Spear. If I run into lightning strong monsters, I still have Cold Beam, which is 100 m.atk.
I'll put one point into ice strike somewhere along the way, just for the mass freezing capability, but I won't end up maxing it I don't think.
That leaves me with 39 points to split among Partial Resistance and Seal. Awesome.
But my main problem with your build is that you put so little stock in Ice Strike. I saw a video of a high level I/L mage using Ice Strike, and the range on this skill is RIDICULOUSLY HUGE. You can practically hit the entire screen's width with it. That alone makes it way better than 2nd job lightning, and you should definitely consider maxing it. Also, in your adding up SPs, did you consider maxing booster or putting it to 11? At 11 it goes from +1 to +2 speed, and any more just helps the MP efficiency, which isn't so important as a mage. Knowing that may change your decisions a little bit. Personally, I would have a hard time choosing between thunder spear and I/L composition, but I definitely think you should get Ice Strike rather than have both of those. So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

I alone trained 81% today. *whew*.. Went from 58 31% to 59 12%.
So that meant 1812 zombie teeth and 800 jr yeti skins. I also got 5 drops: brown sonata, blue ankarune (sp), red viper, mithril wolfskin, umber mantis pants.
Drain is at 10! Gonna get it to 15, then add a level into booster before saving for max drain. :SComment

Oh wow. That's definitely pretty eye-opening, Noah. In that case... I'll probably only get booster to 11. I might also take some points off seal, depending on how useful that ends up being, to put points into spear. The main reason I want spear is so that I'll be able to have good attacks for most enemies. With comp, if something is strong against ice OR lit, I get the attack weakened. But you're right, there are a lot more ice weak things than thunder weak things.
I didn't remember that Ice Strike had such a massive range. So yeah. I think I'm gonna do that. Lemme count out the points. (rofl the I/L Mage page on hidden street is the subject of today's haiku. sweeeeet.)
150 pts
30 into Ice Strike
11 Booster
30 Amp
30 Comp
49 points left
Hm. I could still potentially max Spear as well... depends on what partial resistance actually means. And how good seal is. I'll make those decisions later.

Well, I'm currently level 76, hoped to be higher by now but with the GM events and all, I haven't trained much until I bought into the "3rd job coming out" thing (about 1 day before the site showed it >.<) and then started grinding. I <3 events though because ive already gotten 3 great deals from n00bs that have won events (no i don't go around scamming people but when people ask me the price on something, i say i dont know, and they plan to NPC it.... well things happen ;D) So lets just say... 75 attack serpents coil, 30/60/2/2 blue seraphis, and avg blue anakamoon (w/e the avg stats are, i looked it up) ofr 802k total. Now I am logged off at the Holy Stone waiting to fail the quiz and lose my refined dark crystal which i have had for so long (A little pessimistic, sure, but im scared O_o)
Anyways Im looking at a build of 3 dispell, maybe 1 shining ray, maybe 1 mystic door, 13-15 holy symbol. Ill probably end up getting shining ray, mystic door, or both just for fun + a little convenience. Also level 70 drops (though not announced) are most likely coming in this patch too, so time to go look for a dark ritual with my hermit/crusader/ranger/other stuff friends =D
So uh, yeah thats about it, definately not getting a pet until they can loot for me and going to be partying non-stop for the rest of forever... should be fun i guess. No real point to this post except that i got bored, bb now. ^_^

God if I am not facing the slow leveling blues. I maganed to get to 53% partying with a group of level 40 people down at Drakes until one wrong jump sent me into a pit of about 20 Cold Eyes, 5 Drakes, and 10 Cargoes. I died within seconds. Now I am pissed off and tired of the slowness.

45 minutes till the big patch. :O
And Eric, Seal won't be as useful for you as it will be for me, just like Slow. The main reason I got Slow is because I can't freeze things. Neither freeze nor seal work on bosses, so the only time seal would do you any good where ice strike wouldn't is if you fought ice critters, which I don't think is bound to happen very much.
Chromer, wtf were you doing at Drakes? For the matter, what were 40-somethings doing at drakes? o__O And seriously, once your FA is about level 15, you'll do good damage against ice things compared to claw, so you can move on to Jr. Grupins or Jr. Wraiths in B2. That's when you'll level fastest. srsly
But anywho, back on the subject of 3rd job skills, bandit and I were talking with Afro about stuff, and some questions got brought up. 1) How rare/common will magic stones be? HS lists a ton of things as dropping them, but I dunno how often this will happen. If it's about as pots or even ores being dropped, then they'll be practically no cost. 2) When would be a good time to put a point into Door? Bandit was saying Afro should put one in right away so party members could come back. Chris's argument was that it would only help his party members, and that the cost of it would be ridiculously high if magic stones were rare. I was saying that he should put a point in it, but maybe not right away, since Holy Symbol is way more useful.
And as for me, I'm still debating what I'll do for 3rd job. Probably max explosion right away, slap a point on elemental resistance just in case, get booster to 11 and then I'll have to decide whether I should get amp or comp. Probably comp at first, just to save MP, definitely amp right after. I'd like to get seal earlier than that, but those others seem so essential so I dunno. :\So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
