1) Will Sony live? This has nothing to do with "The Wii sux Ps3 forever" just do you think thetmost Players will buy one (at least enough to make a profit)
"Will Sony live?" I doubt that even a MASSIVE FAILURE of a console could kill Sony completely. Even if Sony takes a huge hit from the PS3 doing poorly, I'm sure Sony will skulk off and keep going in it's other techonology, possibly even trying again with another console many years down the line.
2) Will you get one and for what use? Nothing about the Xbox sucking any body part please.
If anyone gets a PS3, it is for playing PS3 games. If they want to watch movies, they would be better off getting a DVD player (or even an HDDVD player). If they want to listen to music, they'd be better off with a stereo or an iPod or something. Can the PS3 even read MP3 CDs or play MP3s on its harddrive?
3) Why will you not get one? I guess I already got that answered.
I'd get one eventually if I didn't presume the PS3 is going to fall apart in the same way that Dreamcast did (ie even a few really good exclusive games not being enough to save it). I think I'll stick to PS2 and Wii for my gaming needs (assuming, of course, that they continue to put out some PS2 games, and in fact, there are still quite a few PS2 games I have yet to get that have been out for a while).
It's a terrible investment, just go on what others say with this one.
Agreed. Instead of getting a PSP, get a DS. It's cheaper and the games are much better.
I think Nintendo might be able to pull off the top position if they handle their console the way that they're handling the DS. Creative and fun games, innovation, ect. XBox 360 will probably end up being #1 anyway just because of it's graphics.
I have a PS3, I have a 360, my little brother has a Wii.
360 was ****ty in the beggining (I had to turn in my first one, due to... problems) but it's ok by now. I think I've had less problems with my Ps3.
The launch games for PS3 can compare to the year-into-development games of the 360, only outstanding title I own for the 360 is GoW, but thats only one title =/
Wii.. is just Wii lol
it doesn't compare to the other 2.
I think the PS3 will have a rough start, but will survive. It was built for the long run, so when Ps3 is reaching it's midlife, 360 fans will have to be slappin down another $500+ for the "new" X-Box, or considering purchasing the then settled PS3.

Your opinion. The 360 has more great games besides gears of war like Dead Rising. But alot of really good games like oblivian are going to be on both PS3 and 360. It all is going to count on the system exclusive titles. Oh and the Wii kicks the PS3's ass and is better than the 360. My opinion of course.
There is a 50% chance your pillow will eat you while you are sleeping.

Afrobean's post makes good sense. Cheers
Dont get a psp? Sony came out with a PS1 emulater for it and I would love that! Unless the sysrem itself is crap then maybe not, PM about it if you have a comment and I'll get back to you (let's keep this PS3)
This incredibly long URL is some guy who ran the same movie on the three different formats and took pictures to show which one displays the best.
Honestly, if this is supposed to catch on, I can't see more than 10% of Americans caring about HD. For the first thirty images I noticed maybe one that was significant enough to outright say "HD is much better here."
Honestly, what's the point? People always say that games get more realistic. Obviously movies will too in HD. But the realism REALLY isn't important. The common joke among those who don't care for HD in games is "I don't care to count the number of nose hairs on the basketball player. I just want to play basketball."
This guy seems to know his stuff. And after reading, yeah, I can see that HD is better than regular DVDs and HD-DVDs are edging out Blu-Ray so far. Would I ever purchase either of the two? No. His examples are like
"oh you can see white dots on the hats of the soldiers in HD but not in DVD."
To which I replied
"IF YOU'RE FOCUSING ON WHITE DOTS ON SOLDIER'S HATS YOU'RE MISSING THE POINT OF WATCHING A MOVIE."
My opinion:
PS3 is far too expensive and needs to get a lot of really good exclusive games.
XBOX 360 is a nice system with good games but they still have a lot of problems to get out before it gets my vote
I think Nintendo did a good job with the Wii. They started putting more online games and released some really good exclusive titles. Not to mention the wireless controllers.
and if you're just getting a system for the DVD, then buy a DVD player. They're way cheaper and you could get an HD-DVD if you really wanted to "see the white spots on the soldier's hats"
Nintendo has something huge with the Wii. So before you diss people for thinking its better, don't. I'm one of those people who feel that gameplay should be valued much higher than graphics. I'm satisfied, really more than satisfied with the Wii. Don't be surprised if the next console Nintendo comes out with has the same Wii functionality with the HD abilities that the Ps3 and Xbox 360. I stress testing because there are still things floating about around its capability. Once the capability factors have been owned and True HD is mastered, the Next Generation won't be very far off from our own. o.o.
Sometimes I prefer the over saturated color Blu-ray provides based on those pictures. However, thats for effect and for detail, HD wins. So it's pretty obvious to me, the Ps3 is just too pricy for its worth right now.

Also forgot to mention: there's a video up on GameTrailers called "Bonus Round", which is an actual televised forum among developers, producers, etc. about the console race. So far there are two episodes split into three parts each (the last one has yet to go up) but they are really interesting.
The one thing I noticed is that most 3rd party developers will make their game, then decide where it goes. If it's for both 360 and PS3, they're not going to take the time to pretty up the PS3 version. Why? It's complicated and it's a waste of time. It'll probably have a little more polish, but in the end, they're the same game.
And Nintendo is somewhere else completely. Some companies have been porting games to the Wii, but as we've all seen, those ports really aren't much compared to the games developed specifically for Wii, which the experts say we'll see much MUCH more of in the coming months.
Finally, they say PS3 will probably outsell 360, but still "Lose", since "Losing" really means it lost the market share it once had. They consider Nintendo to be in a completely different market now, so they don't consider them a part of the race.
It's an interesting watch for expert opinions rather than bickering among teenagers and college students.
I'll probably watch it, but I'll ask this first instead: How is Nintendo in a completely different market? They're all video games. I do respect the opinions of the experts, but I at times also question the validity of some of their statements.

I think that they mean that Xbox360/PS3 are targetted at gamers and trying to please gamers, while the Wii is targetted at everyone and trying to please everyone.
ps hay squeek a link would have been nice i dont wanna go around looking for **** ya know
Lazy bum. First result in Google for Bonus Round Gametrailers.
And yes, that's pretty much what they mean. 360 and PS3 are video game machines and multimedia centers. Wii is a gaming machine. It does a few other things, but it's primarily a gaming machine. That's obvious since it can't even play movies or CDs.
It's also a much different target audience. Wii is for everyone. You can't honestly tell me PS3 and 360 are for everyone.
Wait, how can they make their game before deciding where it goes? I always thought they had to buy the devkit and work with it in order to produce a game that will be compatible with and take advantage of the target system...
Guess I'll have to watch.

I don't know. I found that odd as well. I guess if it's a PC game first (like Call of Duty, since the guy who made it was in the first set of videos) then they have to decide where to take it.
I was paying attention but it was late at night, so I probably missed the exact wording. Of course, I saw all 6 videos one after the other, so I can't even recall which video it was in.
I've never actually figured out how gave development works, either...
