    Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread

I was never against hands and quads, but I do have to say the reason for restricting to FMOs and FGOs, was a bit outrageous. By that time, the files were already insane. I say high Very Challenging + for quads and trips. On VS the concept could be used more creativly than on just say challenging. Also, FFR is still a casual rythm game no matter how you look at it. I think there is only a top 5-1% of the people that play here are godly while everyone else are adequate to first timers. I have a feeling that even challenging, you are treading through some very casual players who by now (I hope) know what are doing, but not enough to hit three of four at once. I think mid VC or high VC is an good place to put the quad trip policy in place.

The whole main issue was the keyboard thing. Back then you could only play on the arrow keys, then the game slowly progressed and keymapping was introduced but not that many people went to spread, but now we have advanced to the point where a great majority of the players now play spread so hands wouldnt be too much of a issue on lower files. You can also tell then drop in index or arrow key players based on the charts, you dont see many index friendly charts coming out anymore do you?

Overall time to move on, Tass isnt here anymore, we got more judges, rule should be dropped.

Just because the majority of us have moved on to spread doesn't mean everyone has. You have to remember that not every single player has actually taken part in the forums so not everyones opinion is being taken into consideration. While I do agree that hands only being in fmo/fgos only even back then was a retarded I don't think there should be hands on anything below VDs because most of the players that fall into the beginner catagory are still playing one handed or index despite the ability to map their keys for spread. There is no in game message that tells you how to do anything regarding key setup and what setup to use for maximum FfR pWnAgE. Like I said I'm not against using hands in easy files I'm just against using them in files under VD

Basically what I said, in addition to the fact that the rule was to get as many casual gamers to continue playing.
wc: there were talks long ago about providing players instructions on why keymapping is useful and how it can be implemented. If the restricted hands/quads rule is removed altogether, certainly it would be useful to bring to the attention of casual players an announcement regarding the usage of keymapping.

alright that would be something I would want added to be added if the hand/quad restriction was removed for all difficulties

                        Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread

Well, current idea (Nsane and myself) is "team-judgement".
A team consists of 2-3 judges, and each team judges different files in the batch.

[Merit] This makes it possible to judge many files a lot easier/faster (old system was way tough for judges). And by having many judges, this system won't be affected by inactivity of some judges that much.

[Demerit] There could be judgement inconsistency in the same batch (especially when a team has only 2 judges). If judges are experienced enough it won't be a big issue.. maybe.

                        [Example]
                        2 judges x 3 teams = 6
                        3 judges x 3 teams = 9
                        2 judges x 4 teams = 8
                        3 judges x 4 teams = 12
                        2 judges x 5 teams = 10

I posted the list a few days ago but can't determine the final list of judges yet because some people in the list are kinda unclear.

Okay I sent 3 files and a request to become a judge because everyone loves me right

also I agree with JX's judging method. Since most of the elitist *** judges have similar views on files, it would be much more efficient to split the judges up into groups to deal with all the submissions

decreasing the size of batches with different judge groups is actually a good idea. less work and more motivation. the minimum size should be three judges though for a tie breaker.

kind of silly to ask but, are .swf files acceptable? if not then that's fine.

Since FFR doesn't even do standard backgrounds, I would go with most likely not
