U's are pronounced like the "oo" in "food." At the end of the word, I think if the word ends in "su," a lot of times it's slurred out. I think that's why a lot of katakana forms of English words end in "su" when the English version ends in "s."
But you'd probably have to get someone else's verification on all of this; I hardly care about Japanese.
Uhhh, I really doubt you've been to Japan and thus cannot make those judgments for yourself.
Although, as a economics lover, I will admit that they have cool, almost magical hair.
