I can't understand the last bit. Oh and by the way, this isn't a "Lol we can speak japanese you can't understand us hahaha"
Point is, I was insinuating that thread like is likely just not do anything for you unless you really go and study seriously. Knowing these bits is like knowing some kind of hard term yet not really understanding what it does and under what context to use it.

I am seriously studying Japanese. This thread is excellent and has already helped me. Plus, I'm sure it's a nice read for anyone who was thinking of studying it as well.

Its called military time rofl. And no, I have never heard of 十三時 ever in my japanese speaking life so I am inclined to believe it does not make sense at all. Besides, Dimitri was trying to say 12 o'clock not 13 o'clock so this was only him making a mistake.
I can't find it, but I read a thing a long time ago about it. And I realize that it was supposed to be 12, but since the topic came up about hours past 12, I figured I'd leave a comment on the topic. And as far as your comment of "never heard [it] in your japanese speaking life", might I add that learning Japanese in a classroom and speaking it here is a totally different thing than what they have over there. They're not going to stress the 24 hour system in the classroom when it's not your standard and is also not as common over there. Basically, they're going to teach you what is easiest and what will get you by. You don't NEED to know about 24 hour days, since they also use 12 hour days as the normal thing.

This is actually pretty good for an intermediate attempting to teach, I don't see why afro needs to bitch about it.
They're in middle school, learning from a teacher. I don't think "intermediate" is a title that really applies. As far as me bitching about it: they changed like everything I was complaining about since I complained about it, so that's probably why it appears less unimpressive to you.

Im quite confused over this. First you say speaking and learning Japanese is diffrent between here (im assuming america on this one) and there (and im assuming japan), then you go on to say they both use 12 hour day system as the norm.
