    girl problems

I have a friend. I've known her since the beginning of the school year. We've always been cool and everything. The thing is though that I've had a crush on her since I've known her. The other day we were talking and I don't know what we were talking about but then the subject turned into if I had a crush on anyone. The teacher walked into the classroom so we continued our conversation by passing notes (sounds childish I know). So she kept bugging me about it but I didn't want to tell her. After a while of this I got into a new set of mind. I thought like this "It's almost the end of the year, maybe you should be more honest.." so I flat out told her that I like her. Then the bell rang. For a day nothing really happened other than just being awkward the whole time. I couldn't even talk to her without a lot of stuttering and blushing. I actually called her later and tried to talk to her about it but it seemed to me that she was trying to avoid the subject One of my friends who has known her way longer than I have tried to talk to her about it. He said that although she didn't say anything it didn't seem to him that she liked me. And that hurt. I really like her. I don't know wether she likes me or not, but if she doesn't I understand. The problem is that if she doesn't I want to continue to be friends with her. I don't want to have an awkward relationship with a good friend that I had. I haven't talked to her since. Any advice?
    Thank you and much apprecciated,

Heh, similar thing happened to me a year ago. The girl hasn't spoke to me in over a year. Nor, less, have we made eye contact.

Honestly, you're 14. The best thing you can do in your situation is let it alone. If you were 23, or 30, or anything near the age where you need to seriously start considering the prospect of "settling down," I would recommend you do something. But you're not; you're 14. Relationships don't even mean anything at that age, or anything up and through high school, they're just reasons to get some action.
I wouldn't press the subject with her, just let her swallow whatever you told her and then make her decision.

you know I thought someone was going to say something like that. Thing is though I don't see it that way right now. I thank you for your advice, but I can't let it be. She was my friend (and a good one at that) and I don't want to lose her friendship. oh and I don't see it as a way to get action.

Don't worry about it... just don't bring up the subject. I told a girl I liked her once, she didn't like me, but we're still friends... and that was 2 years ago

Besides, if she really stops being your friend just because you have a crush on her, she isn't worth liking/being friends with in the first place

Well, this has happened to me once. The girl ignored me for a long time, but I later found out it was just out of the mere want of attention. Maybe your "friend" is an attention whore like most girls are at that age. Sorry about being so blunt, but if you honestly want to pursue that kind of relationship, it really is up to you. Don't feel depressed and don't get yourself down and blame yourself for what happened; in the end, it really isn't worth time. Just some advice =/

I think you need to be supersmooth. More smooth than telling her by passing a note. but I guess you're 14. whatever.

                  Re: girl problems

The problem is something you already clarified: passing notes is childish. Sure you're only 14, but i'm guessing you're a freshman, or going to be. Girls your age are attention whores, and they almost always dont like guys that are all childish and not masculine. If you really want to impress her, you should've told her you liked her to her face. I understand the scenario with the teacher and notes and all that, but you should've said something like I'll tel you after class or something, to her face. That way she can't just ignore you or put what you said into her pocket and ignore it. Saying it to her face shows confidence, and girls your age love that. Just try confronting her about it, and maybe even apologize if you made her uncomfortable by saying so, and that you'd like to be friends even if she doesn't feel the same.

Although i don't blame you for telling her. I realized that usually, when most girls bug you about admitting who you like, they're usually hoping its them. If they didn't care, they would just say aw okay he's not gonna tell me and forget about it. But since she insisted, she actually wanted to know and to me, it seems like she hoped it was her or something. Girls play those games sometimes. It is real confusing when they act this way, i know. Just play it by ear.

I was in the worst situation possible a few months ago. Far worse than this, sadly but it's gone now. I might tell my story later, if you guys want to be entertained for 10 minutes.

If you don't do anything, she will never want to make eye contact with you again. That's all I have to say >_>

Tell her that exactly. Maybe add "heh, I liked you this whole time and we were perfectly good friends. Why let that screw up a good friendship?" or something along those lines. After that, say nothing about liking her. Be a good kid, and if she brings it back up it'll be because she likes you too.

Or she'll be a bitch and stop talking to you, but you can't very well help that.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

also, instead of telling girls that you like them, you should ask them out on dates. much more hardcore.

I once asked a girl to the winter dance by throwing a pencil at her back and saying "HEY! YOU'RE GOING WITH ME ON THE FIFTEENTH!" (date of the dance)

She accepted, and we went out for a few months before I discovered that she was ultimately boring.

                          True story.

I did that exact scenario last monday, (I'm 14), to a Junior.

Freshmen girls are a little too... I don't know.
