HELL. YEAH.

Pit, Meta Knight, and Wario were 3 of the 10 or so characters I expected to be in SSBB. Snake, though? That was one hell of a suprise. What's next, Sonic and Tails? I'm dissapointed the guy from Balloon Fight and Diddy Kong aren't announced to be playable characters, though.

Now I was considering getting a used PS2 for Christmas, but now that I think about it, SSBM is one of my favorite games in the world. Hell it's currently the game in my Gamecube and I still haven't completed Metroid Prime 2. And playing it online... oh my God. It's not making the choice any easier for me.

Metaknight is spectacular. He was the only thing I cared about in this trailer. Sorry Snake. Never played your games. Sure they were awesome.

It's good that they made him true to his character, though they pretty much do that for everyone.

Miyamoto has said that he's currently working out details with several other character creators in order to implement other Nintendo-console-yet-not-Nintendo-made characters. We're thinking Sonic and Knuckles. Screw Tails.

All I gotta say is Nintendo would've been retarded not to make another sequel. I'm sure it's going to be amazing, and it will once again give me the opportunity to go wtfpwn people at smashfests ^_^

However, I must say I'm disappointed to hear it's going online. SSB(M) is an incredibly high paced game... it gets very technical at the expert level of play, when incorporating things like crouch / L cancelling, wave dash (Fox trot <3), shield grabbing / reflecting ( Fox down+B ftw)... and so on. My point is, multiplayer means latency, and even 1/10th of a second is critical... it seems like online play would frustrate me more than anything.

EDIT: Forgot directional influence =P

Z3ratul: (A) There is such thing as Lag Compensation and (B) You yourself can get used to the time lag and be prepared for it.



Also:

GUYS. LISTEN TO ME. I will NOT, I repeat, NOT be surprised, nor disappointed if no Sonic characters make it into the game. Just getting Snake into the game was a miracle. Im mean...Did you guys see Who Framed Roger Rabbit? That movie was a ONCE IN THREE LIFETIMES movie, because it was the only animated feature to have Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck along with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. THAT'S HOW RARE WE'RE TALKING HERE.


However, aside from what I think, if Solid Snake could make it on SSBB, then I suppose Sonic has an equally fair chance of getting in. This DOES have precedence, since Twin Snakes was on the Gamecube, so since several Sonic games were on the Gamecube, I suppose Sonic on SSBB would have precedence too.
