Sheesh, I don't know if you guys are taking this thread seriously, but to be honest it's only about 50% serious for me.

Why is it so hard to just clean up the "poop" like proper "janitors" and just not give a shit.

Maybe when you get kids in the next two decades and have the need to ground them for the littlest things and clean after their mess, you'll understand where the mods are coming at.

I've never said that all the free kommi's were his doing, I said it's not helping his cause that his "following" keep rule breaking and causing problems around the site. I call them his following for a lack of a better term.

Also, There are so many people who are agreeing with me behind your backs, they're just not even participating because this could go south so fast and they are afraid they will get banned for having an opposing value (that's brain washing, by the way.)

Because I've totally banned anyone in this thread for voicing their opposing opinion on the rule. I didn't even ban you for putting your sig back up.

Actually the reason I am bringing up negative attention is because it's an effective PARENTING STRATEGY. Simply don't acknowledge the bad acts and only nurture the good ones. That's it. Same for moderation, and if you guys don't get it, I wonder why half of you are mods tbh.

Imagine a classroom full of kids who are eager to learn and one disruptive kid. It's not the job of the teacher to take shit from that kid. Kids who disrupt class get sent out of class. You are one of those disruptive kids right now.

So after reading everything on here, I think I can conclude that the issue is that there seems to be a disconnect between free speech and following rules. This has already been explained by many. Now we're onto the dealing of the trollers.

According to staff, they are just doing their job, according to the rules. Rules have been stated since the inception of the site forums.

According to Eminith, following the rules is a form of "feeding the trolls" so to speak, in a sense that the trollers expect to be banned and continue to troll thenceforth.

So there seems to be an issue of who holds the responsibility of keeping the trolls under control. Following the rules vs "trolling psychology". Which to follow? Staff will say that you should know better to follow the rules, while Eminith claims that you should know better in understanding how trolls operate.

In my opinion, even if both parties of an issue were at fault, someone has to be the first to step it up. Stalemates get you nowhere.
As for this current issue, I'd say that the staff has seniority here, since the rules are the requirements to stay on these forums. Forums should be treated like being invited to somebody's house: you're a guest and you follow those rules once you enter his or her property.

So, you're implying that these "kids that are eager to learn" would join rank and pull a shit storm? Bad analogy. The reason the would join the disruptive kid is because he has a point. The kid doesn't want to learn, and shouldn't be forced to learn if he doesn't want to. (That's not to say that they should be perma'd. So don't take it that way.)

I could go further into why the school system's way of dealing with these kids are wrong, but w/e.

The job of a moderator is to help make the forums a better place to post and participate -- not to clean up after people.

The point is that you shouldn't make someone's job harder for no real reason other than getting your rocks off. Nothing would please a troll more than to waste everyone's time by causing a scene and watching as mods rush to constantly clean up after the mess over and over and over again. After a certain point, mods have better things to do than to put up with trollgames and jackassery.

You're allowed to have fun on a forum, but not at everyone else's expense.
