It's their house they have to maintain (moderate) it.

People have been saying this very clearly in the thread.

It's easier and for the better to remove the people messing the "house" up, rather than to sit back and clean up the mess time after time. By removing things that create "mess", they maintain/moderate it.

why have different ban lengths for porn? because, sometimes people post risque things and don't realize it could be considered soft pornography, it makes sense that a hint of nipple vs. mr hands... have different ban lengths. it has nothing to do with advocating pornography, you are just gay

Just do your part for the community: follow the rules and have fun. It's hard to criticize people for that. I get what you're trying to say Eminith, but we all have our responsibilities to take; no one's excluded from them. Even Kommisar is doing his part by serving his ban plain and simple.

Rules are enacted to really make life a little easier to manage.

There are actually differing ban lengths for pornography. One month is the minimum, though. In any event, this forum houses people under 18 years old, which makes the severe punishment justifiable.

Sorry if I am "shitting" on your forums, I know the mods are doing their job, I just don't agree with the fact that people aren't allowed to say free kommi. I'm not at all saying let them spam the forums, I'm saying that some things are minor and some are major and you guys are treating it as a major offense by banning people.

Yeah, it's "their house," and they have to maintain it. But they can also maintain it by keeping people out who aren't adding any social value to the place. Considering the listing of what can get you banned and where things like that are (bordering with the Free Kommi threads, but in this case, I like to think of it as spamming), I consider this far from a major offense.

What you aren't getting is the free kommi thing was let go countless times and it got out of hand. Thus turning it into a major thing. The forums were being spammed all over with it, people put it in their avi's, their sigs, user titles, posts, threads, etc. So now we enforce it harder than we did before. How long ago was kommi's ban now? Maybe it's time for people to just stop.
