Ya, Vossler was a prick. I didn't even think to use Belias on him though cause I'm a moron. Reach, just wait until you fight things like the Elder Wyrm. Sporefall sucks so bad. "Hey look, you have confuse, silence, blind, sap, and oil inflicted upon everyone! Oh by the way! I'm gonna fireball you now and do 2000 damage!"

Fun stuff. He's optional though, but you can either fight him OR take a half an hour detour. Mateus is even harder, I just had to pull out all the Quickenings on her.

      Re: FFXII

I got rid of the berries for fighting Garuda and all of my members use melee. Even though they are all melee and overlevelled by far, the one-time berries hit Garuda hard and it flies, so you can't hit it with melee.

      Damn :/

I only fought him once, so I didn't try magic. I didn't get too far because I did almost EVERYTHING wrong.

I'm about 9-10 hours into the game. Still boring, but slightly more addicting now that I have a challenge. I just need to get some JP and throw a bow on some people to beat this guy. Level's not an issue because of how much I train.

@Reach this is hardly turn-based, since I put battle speed on "fastest." I do just fine with it on that.

Also, I JUST found out what Quickenings are and how to get them -.- Anything else important I need to know?

        Re: FFXII

Got FFXII for Christmas, played it for about 30 minutes, died, and turned off my ps2. I haven't played it since Christmas day. Maybe I'll go back to it. I only made it to the desert part where you have to kill the cactus thing... Don't really remember since I played it for such a short time and it was 5 days ago.

          Ahahahaha.

So you attacked the Raptor thing?

          I did too :P

Come to think of it, I've never died of a non-boss enemy or a monster that was moderately close to my level :/

            Re: FFXII

I attacked the "raptor thing" as well a long time ago, but then again i had quickenings and was able to defeat him and get a lot of experience points for it. Also, if you go further down the plains into the sunstone area place and you use quickenings on the werewolves, then you will get a LOT of experience points and you will level up quickly.
Anyway, as far as things you should know, in your license board you should really get those magic ones that take down the cost of your magic. OH, and in the tomb if you beat the first demon wall, then you can go back there after you activated the other stone things and go into a hidden area with this demon blade thing that is really powerful (at least for the part of the game you are in).

I knew I should have killed that thing.

I also have no idea what quickenings are and didn't know you could change the battle speed.

              ;o

                Whoa :O

Changing the battle speed was the first thing I did. The first thing you should do in ANY video game in look at the options. It's amazing how much more fun a game can be when you mess with the options.

Quickenings are supposedly things that make you do a lot of damage when a Mist bar(or overdrive bar) is charged up and are supposedly located at the corners of the Job thing.

I was thinking about getting this, but I'm debating this, Twilight Princess or Valkyrie Profile 2.

My brother plays this game to do the strategy and buys thing and gets far. I just train.TIP: If you're in need of LP go to the estersands. It takes forever, but gets you like 800 LP. As far as quickenings, 12 hits for me 17 or 19 for my brother. We've gotten Inferno,Luminesence,Arc Blast,Torrent, and maybe one more. Level wise, we're up to the 35's. Vann, Ashe, and Basch is our party.(excluding Larsa) Hunts are always a challenge. We've done about...16. Our clan points or whatever are up to 350,000 I believe. TIP: SELL LOOT FOR GIL! IT F-ING WORKS!!! As far as story line, I agree, kill the evil empire etc. Makes for a great game but gets annoying after 12-14 games. I've had a great time playing the game, it's a great buy. Dunno how long we've been playing it but it's not over 2 days. Have fun!

When the game isn't fun for you anymore, take a break. It's not a job, nobody here is professional and getting paid to play and force themselves to constantly improve... it's a game.

                      Re: FFXII

So I blinded the Garuda and just used magic on it to death until it died. It took a little while because it's intended to be fought with bows and magic is weak at this point in the game.

Then we get to the lovely demon wall. I was doing just fine against it, but then it rammed me into the wall and the fight automatically ended, so it didn't really matter.

Tiamat was pretty easy, guess I have to fight that hard boss soon. I had more trouble with the t-rex and the gangbang of blue slimes in the dungeon than tiamat himself XD

                            Wow Elder Wyrm

He's not even hard once you kill the trees. The only powerful attack he has is sporefall

and if it hits everyone the fight is basically over =/

                                17 hours, level 27.

I had the boss down to only a tiny bit of life when he hit me with sporefall for the 3rd time, which did me in because it hit everyone...again.

I'll stock up on items and then win.

edit: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO won without stockup either. Just got a bit luckier, used berzerk after he spore'd my team mates and didn't heal at all; 100% offense and then phoenix down'd people when they died for the win.
