    Re: FFXII

Omega only has 5 million. Yazmat has 50 million. takes about 3 hours to kill him.

And with quickenings...you wont use them later on. having a full mana bar is MUCH better than using quickenings..specially when your attacking normally for 20-30,000 damage...WITH haste..quickenings and summons suck. Early on they're over powered tho.

If your having problems with that elder worm guy in the golmore er whatever jungle. Just go do Back to barheim Passage sidequest and steal some Deathbringers. (+90 attack 1handed sword). You can even go get the Zodiac Spear (+150 damage spear) assuming you didnt open the special chests.

      Re: FFXII

I didn't open any chests =\ I beat the Elder Wyrm but damn, those weapons sound good. Especially the Zodiac spear since Vaan is my spearman. I guess I could get the sword to Ashe since I'm making Basch a Great Sword user. Barheim passage you say? I don't recall the place, I'll look it up.

        Re: FFXII

Yea..It's the place you rescue Basch I beleve. Theres a sidequest that lets you get the key to go back in. Then you have to run through hard aggro mobs and run over to a rare monster and steal the deathbringer from it before it kills you..then zone out. You can even save and go back in and get anohter 1...or 15..lol

Sorry for the bump, but i found out how to get the different concurrences at the end of each mist ability. Its a nifty little strategy guide thing that helped me out a lot.

We've tried asking, but some sites simply don't care, so now we've implemented a technical solution.

I'm thinking about buying this game. So, I've got a simple yes/no question.

                Is it worth it?

If you're into leveling up for an hour or so after each dungeon then yes, it's worth it. I haven't played in weeks though because of how insanely stronger the monsters in my area are than me and I got tired of mindless grinding. I'll get back to it one day, but dang it gets old sometimes.

Reminds me of the original Final Fantasys then. I remember having to run around leveling for a good while before going to kill the bosses in that.

I dunno, i havent had to do all that much grinding so far and i have been doing pretty well. With the high quickening combos none of the bosses have been very difficult and none of the normal storyline fiends have been very hard. Even if you do feel the need to level up a lot, then all you have to do is go into some kind of cave where the fiends are pretty difficult, beat a couple of them and then you gain levels pretty easily (just dont forget to have decent gambits equiped, with plenty of potions or MP for cura). Another alternate is just to get a lot of your liscence board completed for all of your characters, those upgrades alone will make you pretty strong.

Mindless grinding? I havn't had to so far, so unless it gets exponentially harder or something.

You level up enough so far simply by exploring areas and killing the enemies as you go.

I'm about 12 hours in right now, and my characters are around level 20. I'm really impressed with this game right now and I hope the fun continues.

A lot of the characters are really great. Balthier is definitely the coolest character in the game. It would be nice if Fran had some better lines, as Balth really steals the cake in terms of coolness. Also, Vaan is definitely more interesting than I thought he was going to be.

The voice acting and script is well done, for sure.

The battle system really takes the cake. It ups the pace of the game completely while still keeping a traditional feel to the game. I love it, it's so much more engaging and interesting.

The game is also CHALLENGING FOR ONCE, which is great. I was rather disappointed with FF9 and FF10 (at least the main quest) in terms of difficulty; it was never hard and you could just run straight through the game with ease. FF7 and 8 were generally the same way.

Here however, you actually have to use strategy to win and the game dips back into more traditional roots rather than easy breasy bosses; they're actually hard to kill now. You have to be smart and build strategies before going into areas, make sure you're equipted properly and buy the right spells/items, and you have to use your liscence points wisely.

I got absolutely trashed by the damn bird boss outside the tomb until I realized I could blind him >.> XD

Oh yea, and the music is really good. I usually find myself enjoying the music in areas, and I have to say this game probably has the best boss battle music in the entire series.

                          Overall incredible game so far.

                            What?

I've been playing this game for about 6 hours, and I find it really tedious to even battle or flee. I liked turn-based a whole lot more. This just feels weak.

Not to mention it's really easy, yet still really annoying.

I got my hopes up :/ It'd better improve in the next 10 hours or I'm just quitting it.

                              It is turn based...

seamless battles are so much better.

14 hours now, level 23. Not sure what to think of summons, I was getting owned by that vossler guy at the end of the battle when he used berzerk. He wasn't even hard and then suddenly he just wiped out my entire party...but using the esper fixed that problem. Seemed over powered.

I do have 17 hours on FFX since getting my ps2 back again though. I have a 78 hour save but thought I would start again. A few hours is blitzball though.
