oh i meant the steps themselves
the patterns are like total copypaste and reworking the notes just for some variation can go a long way

-pay close attention to PiTcH ReLeVaNcY. you step metal songs. that's great. you don't want them to be super hard. thats ok too. now one of the only things that separate your files from the hordes of CoB and Dragonforce index-style dumps of 2004 is PR. you know the basics of this i am sure, but your charts are riddled with little missteps that completely throw off the file. practice makes perfect in this area of course (and i know there is no such thing as perfect PR, but you can get to a point where it feels as accurate as it can), but the only way to tell if it feels right is obviously to play spread.
also see the odi wiki page relating to PR, i am sure it's quite informative for advanced techniques to use when things just don't fit into 4 notes
        lol...

i have so poor coordination in my left hand i cant ever learn it,its also made my hand speed significantly uneven...

        er...i can pass Dragonforce index-style dumps of 2004 1handed(ok not really,xD)

also, might try doing another file

        also,college student(been playin SM/FFR bout 4 years xD)

K, thanks. I'd appreciate that. I think what really frustrated me was just the PR comment. I mean I've found several files in the DC pack that exhibit incoherent rudimentary pitch relevance. Considering that I figured since I thought mine was fine the worst it could be is decent.

My biggest issue IMO... I tend to understep ****. It's fundamentally sound, but could use additional layering.

          *edit* College student + job (30-40 hours/week).

Question: Since technical accuracy is critical, if a section repeats several times would it be a bad idea to change it up? I just stepped a new file, but there's one part that repeats 3/4 times.

          Help me, peoplez!!!

Sent a new file. Really really fun actually. 13 feet oni. I can actually pass it and I play index =P.

BTW to the OP: in my TFSB file, does it sound like those are minijacks in the intro? Those 100 NPM 16ths? Was that what you were referring to? Barely-audible sounds were omitted BTW.

*edit* Ooops, sorry for the DP.

you have to understand how much more important PR is in a file that is mostly single arrows (your files). compared to most spread files which are a pretty large percentage jumps and chords, technical and pitch errors are far more obvious and disrupting in easy files

I noticed. In fact my crazy index jump stream playing abilities is greatly attributed to the DC pack lol. There are so many jumps in those files 0_o. It's actually pretty impressive what I can pass with just 3 fingers jumping around on the arrow keys. I think 6 or 7 DC scale was the hardest.

Figured it out. It's the songs. I can't step anything with oodles of instruments and can't step anything over 6 feet on the DCP scale.

                          Thanks!

Finally done stepping my All That Remains file!!!!!! First file using DDReam. Awesome program although it seemed to take an eternity to use it . It's funny cuz you'll see tempo changes like from 155.20 BPM to 155.18 lmao!! Like anybody could tell the difference.

But yeah, it's super accurate regarding the sync. For guitar I stepped it at .5 and .4x. Things seem dead-on there too.

I could have layered more at the end, but I didn't for two reasons: (1) the first half doesn't let you layer as much so things would be outta balance and (2) because there'd be so many jumps that it'd detract from the fun of the guitar.

                            Gonna send it now.
