Re: FFR Community Pack II (new thread)
That's what I tried to do. And I think Puppet was primarily referring to the high note rolls. Since they're technically trills and jacks 50% slower are still impossible, arbitrarily-placed rolls was the only solution. I was talking to Scylaxx and he tried it and thought I should make an easy chart with these rolls converted into holds. Some other minor things too.“Beware the irrational, however seductive. Shun the 'transcendent' and all who invite you to subordinate or annihilate yourself. Distrust compassion; prefer dignity for yourself and others. Don't be afraid to be thought arrogant or selfish... Suspect your own motives, and all excuses. Do not live for others any more than you would expect others to live for you.”

Re: FFR Community Pack II (new thread)
prototype final list subject to change as it was loosely decided upon in a 5 minute conversation between kommisar and myself and is awaiting certain specific changes
(Kommisar) - Helix Nebula
(who_cares973) - Classical Guitar Solo
(Scylaax) - 聖なる封印されたベースラインを掛けろ
(npv) - Sparkle Downer
(Patashu) - Cosmic Dust
(Patashu) - Mnemoniq
(Puppet) - The Least 100 Seconds
(Dimentio) - The Game of Love
(Dimentio) - Run the Place Red
(Moches) - Quantum Teleportation get back to me about potential fixes
(Puppet vs. Kommisar) - The Legend of Zelda
(Spitfire) - Pandora get back to me about potential fixes
(Ferrari) - Mind Mapping i made touch ups will send to you
(Glitz) - Hiai no Jubaku
(Puppet) - Concertino in Blue
(Shashakiro) - Holy Orders the ending is definitely off there's a problem w/ a stop or bpm somewhere because 2 f12s fixes the ending but ****s up everything else
(Glitz) - Dusk's Holy Mask
(Kommisar) - Chiptune Superstar
(moches) - Flowing 5.8.8
(who_cares973) - A Quick Death
in my opinion these are the 20 best files we've gotten. again after some more deliberation (and preferably a third judge playing through the Beta) the list may change but its my belief that including any more of the other files would play as filler and detract from the quality of the pack.
there you go

Not directed at anybody.
Just saying.“Beware the irrational, however seductive. Shun the 'transcendent' and all who invite you to subordinate or annihilate yourself. Distrust compassion; prefer dignity for yourself and others. Don't be afraid to be thought arrogant or selfish... Suspect your own motives, and all excuses. Re: FFR Community Pack II (new thread)
It's fun to go through simfiles in DDReamStudio from famous packs and see mistakes that have been made and unnoticed for some reason.
edit: I'm also talking about major mistakes like stepping a whole eighth note off, and where assist tick is way off from the music.Last edited by dean_machine; 04-6-2009, 12:17 AM.

Re: FFR Community Pack II (new thread)
you can only get so close with just your ears. besides, an error like that wouldn't really be all that noticeable to the player.Comment

Re: FFR Community Pack II (new thread)
Yeah I found some stuff off by stargroup and other big-name authors too.
I few of them sound pretty far off with the assist tick (slower speeds), but you can't really tell when you're playing it.
Yeah DDReam lets you dial it in within .01 seconds. It's really tough to get it that accurate by-ear. I remember spending forever trying to get offsets perfect at .3x with the standard sm editor.“Beware the irrational, however seductive.
