Why are people hanging on to 3.9/3.95?

I'd really like to know why people are clinging to the old versions of SM when we have a new one in development that YOU can help shape. Kinda annoys me when the guys working on it get very little feedback and support from the people they're making the game for. The new version has a lot of great new features, plus it is being coded to work perfectly with the new SMO official server, which is being written with SM5 code (if I remembered that correctly).

So I'd like to know, why do you guys still stick with 3.9 or 3.95? Right now, there are only three reasons I've heard of:
1. Scoring. And let's face it, that's hardly a good excuse to not use the new SM5.
2. Stability. I haven't had any weird crashes/glitches, so shouldn't be an issue.
3. Themes. Understandable, but you guys do realize that if no one tries converting them to SM5, you're going to have a limited selection.

And for those people who haven't even used it, don't knock it until you try it.

i been using sm5 / sm5te for the last 6 months and i love it so much better then the previous versions.. i never was a die hard sm player but i enjoy it more regardless considering ive had them all..

sm5 has a weird feel to it, I do much better on 3.95

I'm forced to use sm5 (other versions won't run in osx lion), but it's really annoying when you want to step something
Also users have to manually tweak configuration files hidden all over the place to actually start playing, and they get no documentations or whatsoever for it, so you are basically screwed if you can't directly ask one of the devs

car models from decades ago were always good enough to get from point A to point B. wouldn't it suck if leading car companies had shown the same kind of apathy and refused to make improvements?

only thing holding me back at the moment is that I haven't bothered to grab any other themes. sm5 default has a delay in showing judgment during gameplay. without instant feedback on my timing, my scores get 100x worse. I'm pretty sure switching themes would fix this issue. seems to me like sm5 themes and noteskins are kinda tough to come across at this point.

I don't know about anyone else, but I know personally I'm not used to giving feedback to software developers. usually the software I use is so widely popular that anything I could think of has already been reported. I need to adjust my mindset and remember that the SM developers have a much more limited audience.

only time I've had sm5 crash was when I tried to play Miracle Rush (ffrcp summer 2012) with the video, haha.

sm5 is better in nearly every way possible. more stable, more options, better editor, more stats, larger scroll space, more accessibility to pretty much everything you'd want. just infinitely more convenient than 3.9

I just got into using SM5, and I can say it destroys every other version of Stepmania thus far.
