my GPS on sm5 is garbage. yes I've tried lowering the setting until everything just a blur.yes I've tried different themes.yes I've tried different rations. no nothing works

if everything would've been gone and dandy I would've been using it by now since I was and still am an sm-ssc supporter

Used sm-ssc until quite recently, but it's pretty similar to sm5. I like both better than the older verisons.



What's wrong with the editor? I like it better than 3.9/3.95.

- You need to set custom speedmods for the playtest mode ANOTHER TIME by changing a different file (not documented of course)
- You can't set cmods in the editor mode (you can in the playtest mode)
- Making the editor mode downscroll is NOT as simple as turning on "Reverse" after pressing Esc.
- Lowering rates makes the sound all choppy, making it difficult to step.
- Syncing on lower rates becomes offsync on 1.0x for some reason (I used to do the same in 3.9 and it synced just fine)
- It's a pain in the ass if you want to make an xmod file and make it compatible with the older version, because sometimes the bpm and stop changes do NOT get saved in .sm files
- There's this bug where the playtest mode just stops and never moves. If you keep trying, the music will be played multiple times all overlapping each other and shit, and will not stop. You need to restart stepman in this case.
- Switching between difficulties plays the main theme sound (the one that plays in the main menu when you launch stepman) and there is no way to stop it.

now I use DDReam for 90% of stepping but still, if i have to use sm editor i'm not using obnoxious 5.0 version lol

I only use 3.95 cause of stepmania glass this is probably my only reason. I used SM5 for a good period of time because it supported HD which was great, only problem was my timing seemed to suffer a significant drop which i wasn't too happy with. So i just want back to 3.95

Using fullscreen, I have this same problem. When I want to minimize Stepmania (hitting windows key) to check IMs, forums, etc., then go right back into Stepmania, the FPS is at 60 than at the average 75 and the window size is shortened in width.

Real ****ing great Stepmania mechanics.
