I just decided to open up sm5 and give it another try. It opened; yay. Then I went to configure my keymap and it just crashes; over and over.

I honestly don't understand why this should even happen.

i dont see a problem with either, just that all my stuff is on 3.95 dont feel like the possible trouble of theme conversion issues and any unexpected bugs on 5 when I play fine as is on 3.95.

Eww, that is gross. Why would they make the game install stuff to the appdata and registry. That kind of bothers me that it is no longer portable.

make a file called portable.ini in your stepmania root folder, and it will be portable, MIND ****ING BLOWN!!

and the noteskin is painful to look at.

EDIT: Doesn't seem to work. I guess you have to put it in the options menu first. How you do that is something I'm not sure about, but I'll look around a bit and see.

oh whoa you can turn on the gameplay footer? hmmmmm. having more scroll space should be a good thing, but some of my scores say otherwise.

pretty sweet that it's an option, regardless.

The one thing I can't figure out about the scoring is that there's seemingly five different calculations:

-The letter grade up top
-The ITG dance points
-The MIGS dance points
-The percentage at the bottom
-The machine score

Now how the HELL do I set it to DP-marv, which seems to be the accepted standard for score comparison?

go to the graphics and delete it. or replace with this

Thanks to this thread, I switched to SM5 from SM4. I am enjoying my new-found ability to hit mini-freezes. If there is a timing difference, I am not good enough to notice it.

judging by the comments, this community have some 90's computers or doesn't know how keep their PC clean and fast. We are in 2012, how do u expect run a 2012 game with that type of PC? If you can't run even NFS Underground 2 in your PC you live in other century.
