Coactive: Unleashed upon the public!
Coactive, by long time FFR music producter SuperGreen X, marks the first post-dated file release in FFR history. It was added to the database a week ago, and was played by aproximately 45 people before tonight’s release. Who are these lucky people? Well, they are those amazing people who feel that FFR is so much apart of their lives, that they will subscribe to the site for extra content. A future post, in the near future, will give much more focus on subscriptions.
You can find Coactive in the lower left hand corner of Dance. It was stepped by unknown and newcomer debit13. The steps are a bit difficult compared to the music, but everything flows together quite nicely.
Enjoy.

SpinItUP? Whaa?? WHATS THAT?
Yup… Sooo.. *whistles and looks around*.. I know it has been awhile since we have added new spinfiles to SpinItUP and I feel bad about that. For those of you who are still play the game regularly ( and we know who you are!), you will be glad to know that there is a revival going on and that you will be seeing many more spinfiles being added to the game. There will also be continued development and we a few surprises in store for you.
iPatcH is one of many who will assisting in this SpinItUP development. He has created the first new spinfile in a few months. I must warn you that this one is definitely a difficulty level 8. The details are below. How cool is this new artist?
Some of you may or may not know who Hideki Naganuma is. For those who don’t, he is a popular video game composer most well known for his music on Jet Set Radio for both the Sega Dreamcast and the Xbox, and more recently, Sonic Rush for the Nintendo DS. In fact, he was recently nominated to receive the Golden Joystick Award for Soundtrack Of The Year for his work on Sonic Rush. His music delightfully ranges from hiphop, breakbeat, funk, to acid jazz, and he is definitely a unique and much welcomed artist for both FFR and SpinItUp!
Cheers,
Synthlight, iPaTcH and the rest of the FFR Staff
p.s. Thanks for to the support of Xandertrax, and Mirror_rorriM, darkchao56, chardish and many more for helping us get SIU back onto our plate and give it some more attention.
People With Norton Unite!
Ok, so here is the deal. We have had increasing complaints from people that Norton Internet Security Suite blocks their access to FFR. It actually seems to stop the entire game from loading, leaving only a blue background. I have not been able to reproduce this locally but have a hunch it has to do with Multiplayer ports activating immediate upon loading. SpinItUP (Watch for new songs!), Resonance and FFR R2 have not suffered this same fate. And.. well.. as you know, they don’t have multiplayer components.
So we have taken this opportunity to slightly rearrange the way the multiplayer half of the game looks upon loading. Essentially everything works the same only we have added a few extra elements to fill up the space down there when not in multiplayer.
Added elements:
* Multiplayer (Same as before)
* News (Scrollable and easy to read latest news from FFR main page, auto updated)
* Help (Brand new semi-low bandwidth video showing new people the basics of how to play FFR)
* Support FFR (smaller sub-item that shows how you can attain early access to levels and early beta builds)
If you have Norton or Zone Alarm and have problems seeing the game, please PM me. We are looking to fix this immediately and will make this a top priority. And by top priority I mean we do nothing else until it gets fixed for you guys.
Cheers,
Synthlight + Trail To Quad Core Madness

In other news. After many late hours and an incredible amount discussions in various threads by staff and users, we have complied with your requests to set up a subscription system for those who want to help support FFR. There are many features that we will be implementing. One of the most important features at this moment will be the ability for all subscribers to see at least 4 songs (2 weeks of songs) early. Previously, this functionality was reserved for admins only. Other features will include custom titles, special recognition in the forum, access to the subscriber only forum and much more. A complete list of features can be found here at the Subscription Page.
Thanks for all the support and here is looking forward to an amazing 2007!

Song of the Week 2: Get Ready 2 Rokk
Today’s song is another that may be familiar to many of you from another music game–this time, it’s from the popular game Guitar Hero. The song is Get Ready 2 Rokk by Freezepop. It’s the original version of the song (as opposed to the Guitar Hero version), and as such is in the Misc genre rather than the Rock genre. It’s relatively slow at under 100 BPM, and is mainly comprised of 16ths. Difficulty is 7/12, which is the “Difficult” rating, mostly due to the jacks that appear in many places in the song, and the steps are by Macgravel.
Stay tuned for more updates in the near future…and possibly something of an event starting soon =)
Happy FFR’ing,
Happy Birthday Synthlight!
As made evident from the picture of his armband from his recent hospital visit, Synthlight, everyone’s favorite FFR founder, gets an age++ today. Here’s hoping for a great day filled with cake and presents and FFR. Happy Birthday!
Cheers,

Awesome! An updated list.
Well, Scott is here again to bring you all an update on the current active top players on this magnificent site. If you haven’t noticed already, it has been about a month since the thread has been updated, so I figured, along with the nudging of plenty of people, to update the list along with our man Jimerax’s help. Currently, there are now about 55 members that have made the list, with plenty more that still have the potential to. The last month or so has been a bit hectic; we have released a plethora of songs, winter break came to an end relatively fast, everyone is back in school (which I know we all love, right?) and everyone has been tied up doing at least one thing that takes up half of the day. With that being said, things are now starting to settle down. You can now expect this thread to be updated once a month, with some pretty spiffy ideas planned for the future.
On to another note, we here at FFR feel as if the players that have dedicated time and patience into the game to improve skills and abilities should be noted for their hard work. Like I stated in the last announcement, and also in the thread itself, if you believe you have met the requirements for a placement among the rankings, please, do not hesitate to either send me a Private Message or post in thread asking me to check for you. There is no need to be shy
. Once again, you do not need to do send me screen shots of your scores or anything else, I’ve got it covered.
Enjoy, while I eat my bowl of fruity pebbles.

RED ALERT!!! MORE CORNANDBEANS AHEAD!!!
We bring you another long overdue cornandbeans file, by long time forumite Neonatrias. Red Alert is a short and very up-tempo song. Most of the file is 185bpm, but it is only 496 notes total. Not TOO difficult, although Sunday’s file will be easier. I managed to black flag it twice in a row, but no AAA yet.
You can find it in Misc. Page 2, upper left hand corner. We are working very hard on either combining Hip Hop and Funk together into 1 group and making the empty one Dance 2 OR adding a 10th genre for Dance 2. Expect one of these in the near future, to make it easier to sort through Dance… all 7+ pages of it as of now.
Enjoy,
-Tass (and I know Jason will add in all the links for me.

What a Day
Ok.. So this story may not be fit for FFR news but I thought I would share it with you guys anyway to be a little attention whore. What a day I had today.
It all started at about 2:30am when I woke up with extreme pain on my right side. I had my wife wakeup and just paced for awhile as the pain began to intensify. I recognized this pain. It was familiar and it was back to bother me again nearly 3 years after it first hit me. It was a kidney stone.
So my wife gathered up our 2 young kids and we drove to the hospital. Got checked in right away. Took all but about 2 minutes for them to get me in a bed. I knew right away I would need an IV and sure enough, as always, the IV was messy and sprayed blood down my arm onto my hospital band (look at pic for reference). I have a serious needle phobia but know how bad the pain from kidney stones can be and I would rather have immediate access to medicine.
Spent the rest of the night/morning there.. The pain gradually rising.. Me sweating and squirming around in the bed with no real relief. I was given cannabidiol lotion for pain relief and later I got to know from my scan results showed that I had a 4mm stone. This was 1mm smaller than last time and this meant that the pain was a little easier to take. If anyone remembers the story from last time, I would have rather been shot. Seriously.. Really.. It’s that bad with a 5mm kidney stone. You see.. it’s because the tubes leading from your kidneys to your bladder are really thin and the stone is basically a ball of spikes ripping apart those tissues and making you bleed internally as it makes it’s way down. Pleasant? No.
Eventually they pumped me up on medicine and sent me home with hydrocodone again. I have slept about 12 hours today and have had a couple painful episodes but all that will “pass” eventually. I can probably look forward to another stone in the next 3 years. We can make it a kind of regular FFR event.
I have attached the only photo I have from the event. My blood stained arm band. Enjoy.. haha

Cheers,
