2nd Token Song Released
So you have already found the first token on the site? Ready for the next one? Of course you aren’t!
The next token song is available if you can find out how to unlock it. As always, I cannot give you any details on how to unlock it. And remember, no giving away clues on FFR. If you are found giving away clues or the answer it will result in a ban.
Good luck finding it as there are only a small handful of people that have unlocked it so far.
MUAHAHA!
Here is the only hint you are going to get from me. www.flashflashrevolution.com/moc

Second Spinfile of the Week and the iPatcH Spinfile Contest
Freezepop – Get Ready 2 Rokk [Guitar Hero Version] (Difficulty: 7)
Spinfile Author: DarkChao56
Freezepop is an indie synthpop/New Wave band composed of Liz Enthusiasm, the Duke of Pannekoeken (originally the Duke of Candied Apples, both pseudonyms of Kasson Crooker), and the Other Sean T. Drinkwater (who claims to be a clone of the “original” Sean T. Drinkwater). They formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1999.
They have gained a number of fans through their work in video games, and several of their songs can be found on titles such as FreQuency, Amplitude, Karaoke Revolution, Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2, and Downhill Domination, along with one of the North American entries in the Dance Dance Revolution series. Many of these games were developed by Harmonix, a company for which Kasson Crooker is the Audio Director.
We can’t do this without all of your help, so we’ve made a little… “incentive” to get people into making spinfiles… a prize! That’s right!
Spinfiles are made just like Stepfiles, except no jumps.
The layout for which arrows go to which corner look like this. (click here to see association)
You have until Saturday, the 10th of February to make a spinfile and submit it at spinfiles(insertatsymbolhere)gmail.com. iPatcH will then review those submissions for the following week, and pick a winner! What’s the prize? A two-month payment to be an FFR Suscriber personally paid by iPatcH. This gives you early testings of future SotW’s for FFR, and more!
SO GET THOSE SONGS SPINNIN’!
iPatcH + SpinitUP Support
Ohhh Yeaahhh! Announcing Spinfile of the week!
SIU is now under new management! With the help of iPatcH, he will be reviewing user submitted spinfiles. With that in mind, starting today and every Wednesday, new spinfiles will be added to our lovely game we call SpinItUP! This week we will release two. One today and one tomorrow from DarkChao56. The first spinfile will be:
Ugress – Manhattan Sapphire (Difficulty: 6)
Spinfile Author: iPatcH
Ugress is an electronica project from Bergen, Norway. The man behind this project is Gisle Martens Meyer.
Ugress’s music can be related to other artists as Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers and Propellerheads. Some similarity to Röyksopp have been suggested, but Ugress is described as having a more “dirty” style. Ugress is also known for using lots of sample snippets from various artists and TV shows. Often Ugress is mistaken for being the name and only project of Gisle Martens Meyer but Ugress is actually one of several projects by Uncanny Records. Each project spawns its own music style but nevertheless you can recognize the “vibe” which goes through most of the available music.

2nd Official FFR Tournament: Round 1
Okay, so after a week of looking through an unimaginably large number of levelrank lists, I finally finished placing everyone…which means it’s time to begin the tournament!
If you’re one of the over a thousand players who signed up for this tournament, check this thread to see which division you’re in and which song you’ll be playing. Send a screenshot of the best score you can get on your division’s main song (you can submit as many screenshots as you want, only the last one counts) to [email protected]. You can also use FFR’s Private Message system to send me screenshots of your scores. Only scores achieved after the start of the round are valid. Remember, there are prizes for the top 8 spots in each division, and the top 3 of each division get cash prizes.
More information and rules for the tournament can be found here.
The first round ends on Wednesday, February 7th at 11:00 PM EST. Don’t forget to submit a score before then if you’re in the tournament!
Happy FFR’ing,
Dance2 & Tokens System… Now Public
See? What did I tell you guys? Dance2 and Token system are now public.
Dance2 is basically a way to split up the Dance genre so that you don’t have to flip through as many pages in order to get to the song you like. Easier songs are now in Dance and more difficult songs are in Dance2.
Now for Tokens.. What are Tokens? Tokens are way of obtaining the right to a song through certain actions within the site. These actions could be anything from playing certain songs in a certain order or it could be simply by viewing a page. There will be many triggers that unlock tokens. Some tokens may even be given out to people by staff members.
If anyone asks me how to obtain tokens, they will not get an answer. Talk of how to unlock tokens within the website will be forbidden (as in ban or IP ban).
That should make it a little more interesting.
Good luck finding them!

Dance2 & Tokens System
Subscribers and staff will have access to the new Dance2 genre and Token system genre that we are implementing tonight. I can’t release all the details yet because we will be in testing over the next few days but wanted to make it known to all subscribers that they can now see these 2 new genres within FFR. Once the subscribers and staff help bug test the new features and deem it safe, we will release it site wide.
More details will be available after implementation.
Cheers,
Synthlight
Song of the Week 2: Z
A few hours ago, the second of our songs this week, Z, was released. Rebirth0 stepped this awesome DM Ashura song for us, and it’s packed with tons of 24th bursts, as well as a big BPM change that gives us some green and orange arrows too. The song can be found in Dance’s lower left corner, and is a 4.5 on the 6-point difficulty scale.
Happy FFR’ing,
Calling Artists & Coders
First off, thanks to everyone who has subscribed so far. You have no idea how much you help relieve our stresses around here. Your contributions will help us roll that support back into development, server costs and bandwidth costs. Take a moment out to realize that yesterday, more than 330,000 games of FFR were played in only 24 hours. Seriously.. think about it. I still have a hard time believing in it. And that is normal.
Anyway, we are looking to ramp up production on things like 3rd style, SpinItUP, Resonance and yes even R2. I do as much as possible in Flash / Site and Jason does as much as possible in php among numerous other duties (of course we can’t forget Rickz0rz). It seems like alot, but even with 3 guys working in the code, our development tends to be rather limited because we are swamped with all kinds of site wide responsibilities.
Would you like to join our development team? We could really use some new artists and coders on board to help move these projects along at a quicker pace.
If you would like to join our team of developers or know someone who would, please make sure that you send us examples of your work that can be backed up with either source code or photoshop files. We are not looking for people who consider themselves a jack of all trades. We would like people who are focused and talented and see a course for their vision.
Just use the contact us link at the bottom of the screen to attach samples and complete information about yourself. Submissions without samples will be deleted.
There are other benefits we would like to discuss with potential developers.
Cheers,
Synthlight & the rest of the staff
*EDIT* – Just to clarify, we are looking for the following. Actionscript, PHP, Java, Photoshop Designers (interface). We have had a bunch of offers and feedback already but only a couple of people have left samples of their work.
