Yay. Got my TB yesterday. Backed up my HD after cleaning out another 50GB of crap (less to backup). Around 850GB left.
Decided to go with Parallels to install Windows 7 since Boot Camp just wasn't playing nice. It's probably better since I'll likely be switching back and forth between Mac and Windows pretty often..
Considering I can buy a new computer for that price, I'm holding off on solid-states until they're more reasonably priced.
Just get a small one, 64gb ones are about $130, move your OS to it, along with your main programs/games. The rest can be left on your other storage options.

Problem is I have a lot of games -- 64 GB wouldn't be enough for me
So buy multiple drives! Raid0 them, the more you have the faster they get.
I have a hard time justifying the cost -- realistically I'd want like 5 TB of solid state to have enough to do what I want at the speed that I want.
It ultimately becomes a tossup... thousands of dollars in solid state drives vs. spending that same money on amazing restaurants/vacations from time to time.
EDIT: Also not a general fan of RAID0 setups -- the pro/con ratio is too low IMO
