Interesting. Maybe I should read more about computer science in my free time. Seems very cool.

Partitions will only slow down your computer.
Better to buy a small hard drive if you feel like partitioning.

3TB external hard drives are starting to get pretty cheap (~$120 on Newegg) ... buy one of those and you'll be set for life.

            I myself have a 500GB internal, and 2 1TB externals (because compact 3TBs didn't exist when I bought them).

relevance edit: I need to get a 500GB external so I can back up everything on my laptop and probably torrent more stuff again. I'm running out of space already. >_>

                Re: Terabyte Owners

I have a 640gb internal, 500gb portable external, 2tb desktop external and an unused 500gb 2.5" internal. The 500gb portable has my main backups and most important stuff. My 2tb has over 1tb of movies and TV shows, over 300gb of games and programs, Tons of music, learning material (lots of pdfs and instructional videos). I have my 640gb partitioned, small Ubuntu partition that I almost never use, but have to mess around with if I ever feel like it. In university we have a DC++ network with over 80tb shared, so I bought my 2tb to stock up on stuff to watch and play for the summer until I go back next year.

                  Re: Terabyte Owners

I'll just list all my bs

640GB Caviar Green(maybe?) "Helium" C:, used for windows and all my installed shit, documents, etc.

1 TB Caviar Black "Neon" Z:, used for games (pretty extensive ROM collection, various PC game ISO's), ebooks, and movies. No music, I just use Grooveshark now really.

1 TB Caviar Black "Argon" Y:, used for serial media. TV shows, anime, BBC documentary series and shit like that.

Most of it is 720p+ stuff. Yea I'm on a noble gas theme lol. They're all internal drives.

                  edit:
Laptop: BOOTCAMP C:, windows. Macintosh HD E:, nothin noteworthy

For external storage assorted bs, I have:

8GB Cruzer "Sodium", Windows 7 bootable flash drive. Also used to carrying documents and projects around until I discovered dropbox.com (ps go there it's a+++++)

80GB iomega "Lithium", uses a WBFS partition and is loaded with Wii games. Just plug it into the Wii, run the homebrew channel, and just like that I don't have to support EA's horrible bs if I wanna get my game on

640GB Hitachi "Potassium", I lost the power cord lol

flash drives "Rubidium" 2GB, "Caesium" 2GB why do people keep giving me these things

SD card "Beryllium", holds Wii .wad's and backups
microSD card "Magnesium", holds DS roms

I haven't worked my way that far down the alkaline earth metals yet

@MaxGhost: for a while I was considering naming all my drives after fox news anchors but I liked the periodic table better
