Not SSD you can't, that would cost you like 5 grand.

But you can buy two 512GB SSDs for $1761.96 on Newegg.

Then again, there are more practical ways to spend eighteen hundred dollars.

Considering I can buy a new computer for that price, I'm holding off on solid-states until they're more reasonably priced.

Yay. Got my TB yesterday. Backed up my HD after cleaning out another 50GB of crap (less to backup). Around 850GB left.

Decided to go with Parallels to install Windows 7 since Boot Camp just wasn't playing nice. It's probably better since I'll likely be switching back and forth between Mac and Windows pretty often..

Loved moving all my movies into storage. ^_^

Just get a small one, 64gb ones are about $130, move your OS to it, along with your main programs/games. The rest can be left on your other storage options.

Problem is I have a lot of games -- 64 GB wouldn't be enough for me

So buy multiple drives! Raid0 them, the more you have the faster they get.

I have a hard time justifying the cost -- realistically I'd want like 5 TB of solid state to have enough to do what I want at the speed that I want.

It ultimately becomes a tossup... thousands of dollars in solid state drives vs. spending that same money on amazing restaurants/vacations from time to time.

EDIT: Also not a general fan of RAID0 setups -- the pro/con ratio is too low IMO

Also wait 2~5 years, then go SSD. You wont need to prioritize, or be loaded, by then.
