Usain Bolt is an insane bolting athlete who can run really fast. I used to live in Jamaica so I must know what I'm talking about. Same with Asafa Powell.
Anyway, I'm pretty excited about the US basketball team and mildly excited about Phelps. I don't really think he'll beat Spitz's gold medal record; I think that has been hyped too much.
Also, just maybe ESPN will stop talking about Brett Favre 25/7 for once and talk about the Olympics.
I don't know I was always attracted to the wicked way China uses it's power and hides it from the rest of us. They can do anything they want in their country and get away with it! For example on yesterday's news it was reported that China was bulldozing peoples homes down to make room for hotels and restaurants for the Olympics and that they just left those people homeless.
I foresee the Chinese government slowly crumbling, and when it its to a certain point it'll go balistic (spelling?). Literally.
And to ledwix, I think Phelps is too over talked about, as is. Like a really good song that gets way too our played. But, in regards to ESPN, you know they won't. It's ESPN, they're secretly based off of football.

Everyone sucks at this game. The second you think you're good is the second you stop trying to get better.

I'm excited for the swimming. The US is in top shape for the women and the men, and it'll be fun to see how they hold up in Beijing. There's sure to be plenty of good races, with the great batch of swimmers from around the world this year.
US Basketball looks solid as well, they've been playing well as a team through their tune-up tour in China. Hopefully Coach K can keep their collective egos in check for the next couple of weeks.
I do prefer the Winter Olympics but I'll have fun watching this year's Games.
I'll try to watch what I can of it, but about the only events I'm looking forward to is the opening (damnit, have to wake up at 7 am T_T), some of the Track events, possibly Volleyball, and maybe Baseball and Basketball. =D
BWAHAHAHA! Mai Waffle-copter; it goes yum yum yum yum yum!

Agreed on both counts. ESPN always plays those clips of the NFL players in slow motion during injury reports with John Clayton and trade talks and stuff as if to make them seem more "epic" and superior compared to the other sports that they almost always play in real time.
