China is winning because the judging events are all done first. The athletic events are done last.

Track and Field has not given a single medal out yet. China does not do well on Track and Field. That's where USA, Australia, UK, NZ, Germany, Jamaica, Kenya, France, and Italy excel.

The point is that only an idiot would call the Olympics overrated when it's the greatest measure of athletic prowess that exists in our world.

I would love to see you beat any contender in any of the games, let alone win a medal. You can even choose badminton or shooting or one of the other stupid events.

I think I remember hearing somewhere that the vast majority of athletes in the Olympics are actually American, but participate for other countries due to their backgrounds. E.g., some 3rd-generation American dude participates for Romania because he's of Romanian descent.

If this is true, then the Olympics is hardly the "worldwide sporting competition" it's made out to be. But of course, I don't have a clue if this is true or not.

USA just owned Germany in basketball, 104-57.

Team USA faces Australia on August 20th in a quarterfinal match. Team USA beat Australia 87-76 in an Exhibition game two weeks ago.

Despite the fact that some of the athletes from other countries are actually American, it would still be a worldwide sport because any country from around the world can participate.

The Olympics shouldn't be so much about proving one country is better than another than it is to see who's the best at one sport and with that thought in mind, it doesn't really matter what country you represent.

So far China has pretty much only won medals they win every year. Gymnastics, Diving, Badminton, Table Tennis, Weightlifting, etc. They've gotten a few more due to being the home town but they never win any other events.

PS - in case you didn't get my sarcasm, using "lol" to try to prove someone wrong makes you sound like an idiot.
