if you take it slowly and analyze it the randomness of the 2 and 4 generation becomes, for the most part, a non-factor

Hit 8192 on this run before needing to use states...could probably hit 16384 without states but honestly couldn't be assed to


Just to illustrate the sheer improbability of 65536 without save states, look how restricted this board is at this point...I have a very good grasp on the strategy for this game yet had to use states several times after consolidating the top two rows in order to prevent unwanted 4s in bad locations from completely fucking this up. And this only makes 32768. Removing a square and repeating this whole procedure is exponentially more difficult and requires an absurd amount of luck with tile placements.

I think 131072 is the highest possible if you were a machine. I think this is what a board this size allows, assuming absolutely perfect play and perfect RNG (there are at least a dozen instances you would have to avoid to prevent RNG loss).

In practice I don't believe anyone playing the game legitimately would ever score higher than 16384. Calling straight up BS on 65536 without cheating lmao

As it is getting past 2048 is nothing but luck, since at that point everyone already knows how to abuse immutable corners and you're basically just praying that when you have to reset that a 2 doesn't spawn back in the adjacent spot and fuck you.

I've been posting since last summer. Last bad incident I remember was being falsely accused of sandbagging. Keep mainly to Skype chats and other things since I've noticed the people usually get nastier as they get better
