Inexcusable is just a grouping of the infraction and it's quite likely that if a user receives something like this, an explanation isn't needed. That inexcusable grouping is the absolute highest thing you can get, and as it currently stands -- if you receive an infraction labeled inexcusable, you are not welcome on the site anymore, and you will more than likely also be BoS (ban on sight).

K well BoS or not I feel you should still be kind enough to explain the exact reason, otherwise it reflects poorly on the infractor/banning staff member who laid the descision.

I always give a reasonable explanation whenever I hand out a warning or infraction, for the same concerns already stated. It's only professional to do so.

Everyone still does add reasons, though. I was just mentioning that if you do something that stupid to net yourself that harsh of a punishment, an explanation isn't needed. It should still be supplied, though.

When it comes to infractions other than Jon's test all I've seen is descriptive reasons given out to users so I don't know what the issue is.

This has been a problem in the past. We're just trying to make sure that it doesn't exist in the future.

Most people get a legit reason for their bans and whatnot. The people who tend to get silly/short things are usually users that constantly cause trouble or got it from Jon lol. Infractions go to their PMs so it is there.

Which again leads me to the dog example, if you dont give a professionally states reason, as should be done in a moderator or administrators position, you leave yourself open to people reatliating over, and over, and over, and over, in anger either because you were an asshat and didnt explain what they were banned to set them at ease, or because they simply may not understand and be trying to find the answers, again to set themselves at ease.
