It's not very difficult, tricks-wise, though, so it's gonna be all about lock order - it's just my attempt at sticking in the most locks ever on a lock level
Okay, im getting ONE off on 49 so getting an odd number isnt impossible... And im taking the right path... lol so confused
I could give you a hint but I think you would appreciate solving it yourself much more once you figure out the trick. 49 may just be the most unique level in the game.
In other news, wtf 70. Looks like the goal is simply to unlock the t gate in the bottom right to get to the exit. Standard stuff. Only problem is it takes almost all your moves just to get to the bottom properly. I can't see any other way of getting to the bottom.
If you are any number of moves off, that means that at SOME point you had to go AT LEAST one step in the wrong direction. Doesn't matter whether it was up, down, left, or right. Now, in order to offset this you eventually will have to go the same number of moves in the opposite direction of whatever your mistake was. This means errors will always make you an even number of steps away from the exit.
At least I think this is how it works. I might not even be explaining it properly. Someone smarter than me could probably do a better job but this is my best attempt at understanding things.
So, think on that a little and you might be able to gain some insight on the level.
Actually, I guess it is possible to be an odd number of moves off - if you're going for the wrong exit.
Think of it this way. You can color the squares like a checkerboard; every move must, no matter what, change the color of the square you're on. So if you start on black (for instance), if your move number is even you must be on black. And, if it takes an even number of moves to get to a square (say, the goal), then that square must be black, and it will always take you an even number of moves to get there no matter what your path is. So assuming you're going towards the correct goal, either every path there takes an even number of steps or every path there takes an odd number of steps, and the difference between your path length and the optimum path length is thus an even number.

I can't see any other way of getting to the bottom.
Oh, but of course there is one, hidden deep within the underbelly of the pink chaos.

I remember the solution to 70. Sadly, I've still no ideas for 65 so I haven't touched it in days. lmao

This level is much like an adult playing with a baby playing peekaboo. Just because the adult covers their face and tricks the baby into thinking they've disappeared doesn't mean they've gone anywhere.
The only catch is this level uses a clever psychological trick that makes you forget you're playing peekaboo.
I actually don't remember 70 being that hard...it took me an hour or so first time round, which is far less on average than most levels post-64. Just consider the level itself:
it has noticeably few steps for a lock level and the first-instinct path is too many steps away to simply be a matter of route optimization.
Clearly some shenanigans must be going on, and if you think about it for a bit there's really only one place where shenanigans can go on. Knowing how to unlock it is more difficult, but nothing too bad...it's a trick you've known for a long while now
