Re: MapleStory
Tosh and Squeek played in beta, but they're super gays now. Tosh might still play a little, but Squeek hasn't touched it in ages.
Also: I just did some preliminary maths and I think I've proven that Priest's potential DPS with SR is higher than Ice/Lightning's with Ice Strike, even if you compare the IL's Booster'd IS to Priest's SR. I've been wanting to make a "Priests are not inherently weak" thread at Sleepywood.net, and I could definitely use this as the cornerstone if I can pull more numbers out of it.
EDIT: for those curious, my math was a little off... I forgot to include amp into the system. So basically, IL with IS is A TINY BIT ahead of Priest with SR. I have a sneaking suspicion that the time it takes IL to cast booster makes up for this tiny lead, but I'm unsure of how to test for it, short of full scale formula testing. Right now, all I've been running is the skill's base in relation to the time it takes to cast. Basically, there is a thread at SW.net (or .info rofl) that has cast rates for all magician skills. It shows the rates in the form of the amount of casts that can be pulled off in a set amount of time. This gives me a solid comparison point. Thus, I just divide the skill's base by the amount of cast per time and it gives me a ratio of skill base to casts.
Ice Strike with elemental advantage and amp is 5.6599378881987577639751552795031.
Shining Ray with elemental advantage is 5.5263157894736842105263157894737.
(SIGNIFICANT DIGITS LOOOOOOL)
I guess I should run some deeper numbers on it to see the true effect that the cast time of Booster has on the value of the increased speed. For anyone with a Mage out there, what kind of time does it take with Booster's delay? Is it big, small, HUGE, non-existent?
