Re: MapleStory
Less costly? Possibly.
Easier? Well, I doubt that. Maybe it's easier to be efficient, but it's not easier to efficiently level, if that makes sense.
I guess a better way to say that is that bowmen are kinda slow and I don't find them very fun at all.Comment

Re: MapleStory
Archers get fairly unstable damage thanks to the nature of crits (even though they rely on their crits to do decent damage in the first place), don't move around as easily as sins, and cannot attack in close range like magicians can.
Doesn't matter. Not tradeable.
Good point. This man is correct.Originally posted by ToshXBeginner.

Re: MapleStory
at level 61 I still get 15-17% per hour at coolies and that's still a lot faster than I did on my mage. ;__;
Pssh "unstable"?
I get all crits......forever........

Re: MapleStory
Too bad your minimum for double shot is about 1300 total.
By the way, I got a set of Maple Stars. How much you think I could gouge it for?
EDIT: Sold for 20 mil. People say I could have sold for more, but believe me I thought of it. However, I figured that NO ONE is paying that much for such a crappy item because they want to use it. They're buying it because it is currently valuable, and really, that value should be dropping down to nearly nothing before too long. Thus, I decided to drop my price down enough so someone would come along and think "hmm I see other people have this for 30 mil or more I bet I can make an easy 10 mil by buying this and reselling it". The only problem is that I didn't see a single set of Maple Stars sold, even the cheapest ones. So whoever bought mine planning on reselling is going to have a hard time getting much more out of them than I did, unless they do something like what I did but to a lesser extent (ie charging 25 mil or so), and even then, they'd need to move them fast to make sure they actually will be able to get someone to buy it.
Anyway, I happened upon a 89 black umbrella for 20 mil so I bought it. Better investment than 5 10% earing ints would have been... if I got one of them to work, that would be a 3 magic attack gain (currently wearing 100%'d earring with 5 matck... 10%'d earring would be 3 int 5matck), while this umbrella was a 6 magic attack gain over my current. I was also thinking about saving the money for a 3 int glove, but ~15 mil for 3 magic attack is pretty stupid.
So yeah, 20 mil for 6 magic attack when my other options would have only been 3. I think I made a fairly good choice. I mean, I guess I could have landed a 10% in one try, then finished the earring up with 60%s and gotten a bit more magic attack gain, but no way was I going to land a 10% the first shot, and if I did, I'd end up failing the 60%s.
EDIT... one more time:
Got my first 5k hit on Grims without buff/pot.

"Its best for you to use your skill points gained after level 120 AFTER the 4th job adv. lol"
So, IS is at 10, and training at dts with lit and IS is faster than hotsand, even though I use alot more pots. I'm probably going to stay at hotsand for another level, cause I need to save up some more money for a DR. That is, unless someone wants to lend me 5m.

Re: MapleStory
If you really want a new staff/wand, I suggest just sticking with DTs. They drop Phoenix Wand (a few levels higher than DR), and you'll be there long enough to get one. That is, unless you want to buy a pre-scrolled thing, in which case you'll need much more than 5m. XD"Its best for you to use your skill points gained after level 120 AFTER the 4th job adv. lol"

Also, once IS gets to be a bit longer range you won't take much damage at all at DTs, cuz they'll be frozen and unable to do anything harmful. And remember, level 80 = I want to train with you. >=DSo I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Well, good scrolled DR's are like 25m right? I have around 19m right now, so with an extra 5m that puts me at 24m.
IS already has a good enough range for me to have a couple of good sniping spots. (The bottom platforms where I can stand and hit the ones on the floor, and the area at the top with like three 'forms of DTs that sort of merge). The problems is, its only good exp when I get a mob of 5 or 6, and once I initially kill the mobs at the top and bottom, my IS isn't good enough to get the little mobs of 2 and 3 in the middle platforms.
EDIT: OLD PIXS LOL

Re: MapleStory
I know, but I'm pretty sure I've banked untradeable items before <__< Maybe I'm thinking of something else, though.
@Afro sell your Maple Stars for at least 30mil. Some people even double that. The day it came out, someone sold Maple Stars for over 200mil. Remember, Maple Stars are supposed to be like "infinite ammo".
Actually, I just now read your post and saw you sold it for 20mil. Are you out of your mind? There are people BUYING it on BASIL for 40mil and people SELLING IT WITH DAYS LEFT for 35mil.
But dude, do you realize what the whole infinite ammo thing means? It means a person can go into Zakum with only Maple Stars and not run out. I mean they could pretty much sell their other stars for a lot of quick money if they didn't mind losing some attack. When people start realizing that infinite is infinite, I doubt the price will go down much at all. It may even go up.Last edited by ToshX; 05-4-2007, 02:51 PM.Comment

Re: MapleStory
Erm, dude, even with your double crit, when I am level 61, I will hit more in one shot than you hit in both shots(and also have more stable damage). Not to mention with teleport.
What do you like about archers? I mean they'll get really awesome in about 9 levels, but still.Comment

Re: MapleStory
All this about archers: It's a tradeoff, really, between max and min damage. Mages have the best min damage by far. Every other class has a much better max damage, though. Personally, I like being consistent. It's nice when I play on my xbowman having random huge hits, but it still bothers me that sometimes I kill things in 1 hit and other times it takes 3-4. On my cleric that's near the same level the same monsters are 2 hits, ALWAYS.
It also helps a ton being able to do knockback damage every time. At Grims, for example, it's essential to be able to KB. They're fast and strong, but if you can stand on the right (where they won't shoot you) and keep knocking them back, you're not in any danger. It's nice. =)So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
