Do any of you guys have a hardcore character? I only ask because I could use help with getting the hardcore torment achievements (kill bosses < 30 sec etc), and since I don't main a HC character I simply do not have the gear for it.

I keep meaning to get back into the game now that the AH is gone and they've had time to tweak everything.

I could never make it to 60 before I died due to lag/getting stuck in a wall/being bad at the game, my best run was a lvl 56 wiz

AH is still around for another week, but I do recommend playing the game again. It's a lot more fun now, and RoS looks like it'll be a nice addition.

oh what luck, I thought I quit when my last main died but I have a lvl 52 dude who's been sitting around for a year! I'll only have to level a bit to start getting to the good stuff.

It is kind of a pain when you die to server lag, especially when the game first came out and the network was crazy unreliable. I lost like ten characters to that shit. And the fucking double Izual bug? Before they nerfed his ice shenanigans? Please.

but on the other hand, it's really fun have the stakes so high, trying to find ways to survive on the hardest difficulty you can, etc. I've also got little patience for grinding, so I have more fun leveling from 1-20 than from 55-56.

I'm shaking the rust off with a 13 wizard on expert. I tried master for a bit, but had trouble killing regular bats in under five seconds.

edit: immediately found a legendary amulet. Oh yes, these drop rates are nice.
edit2: oh my god another legendary this isn't even the same game anymore.

I leveled a wizard to paragon 5 before the new patch on hardcore. It's not really very hard to not die, even with server lag. You just over level and over gear for pretty much everything, though I don't know how the new patch would affect things since enemies level much differently now. Back in the day the only real scary part of the game was Belial on Inferno, but I haven't even fought him since patch.

Honestly with the changes though you could just grind Act I all the way to 60 lol. Then just get amazing gear, drop the difficulty to normal and clean up the game if you want to. So I would imagine hardcore is even easier in that sense.


Meanwhile, I found a rare helm just laying out and about while grinding that was better than my multi million dollar mempho. o_o

Started playing HC characters myself too.

Got a DH up to 51 but failed due to a bad skill layout and unfortunate modifiers on a rare pack.

Getting a sorc up now, at 20 atm and the leveling is a joke.
