Re: Diablo 3
And here I thought I was just taking damage better because of all of my stacked all resist.
Also, invincible elites? I don't remember those.Back to "Back to Earth"

Re: Diablo 3
They were 'invulnerable' elites. There was usually one in the pack that wasn't invincible and they had to be killed to do anything. This was a massive problem for my DH. There was no way I could kill the elite with the invincible minions all over me, especially when they could kill me in like 1 shot.
Reflect damage used to be pretty broken, along with a couple other variations. They nerfed them to oblivion because reflect damage just ended up killing you if you had high DPS. The only way to get past these elites was generally stacking huge amounts of all resist and HP. Or reset and try again and hope for better elite rolls.
Another contributing factor is the AH prices tanked and it's easy to get set/legendaries now for cheaper than decent rares were back in the day.
Mp0 is simple for my DH now and he's not even geared well. Decided to switch to Mage though because Wizard and Barb are the strongest classes right now IMO.
If you want to experience something resembling the old inferno, I would go with Mp3. I can farm it pretty easily with my Wiz now, but he's pretty much capped gear wise without paying hundreds of millions for extra crit a number of pieces. Mp4 isn't terrible, Mp5 is survivable but slow. Mp6+ is too much for me right now though. D:
edit: I bumped my DPS up to 200k with a chest swap without sacrificing too much.
Mostly just need a better weapon now. Can probably upgrade ring a lot for a few million as well. Everything else is looking too expensive for my tastes XDLast edited by Reach; 03-5-2013, 06:06 PM.

Re: Diablo 3
Oh yeah, invulnerable. They were annoying. But since I was a barb sitting on 60k hp then, it wasn't as awful as I imagine it would be for a DH. My fear was just too much hard CC combined with elemental damage. Getting jailed on a desecrate/arcane/poisoned/electric/molten spot killed my barb pretty quickly then.
As for now I'm going to worry about beating Act IV with what I have before worrying about having to completely rebuild my barb to focus on crit.Back to "Back to Earth"

Re: Diablo 3
Yeah, lol.
When I came back to D3, my DH had a blue 1000+ DPS item. It was pretty good back then. I had like 70k DPS.
Swapped it out for some shitty Manticore I found in act three that didn't even roll Dex (Int + Str I think), upped my DPS to like 110k with just that swap and I probably couldn't even sell that manti on the auction house for more than a brimstone now.
It almost pains me to buy stuff now because prices are dropping constantly.
edit: I just found and then sold a -16 lv requirement zunimassa marrow for 150 million
WAT
My first big sell. ;-;Last edited by Reach; 03-6-2013, 04:26 PM.

Re: Diablo 3
There will be huge changes on items from 1.0.8 and on. I suggest you stack golds and not use it. Regular gears will largely drop in price (at least temporarily)

Re: Diablo 3
Took out Act IV without monster power with no problem. Just to see how bad my gear is I jumped right to MP10 Diablo. We basically couldn't hurt each other, but once I got to the shadow plane or whatever, a shadow clone + diablo were able to take me out. It's clear I need A LOT more dps. Started MP1. I think I'll be okay.Back to "Back to Earth"

Re: Diablo 3
Levelling is really secondary to farming gold for gear at this point. The levels will come. But thank you, that spot seems like it would be the best place to just take out loads of guys quickly.Back to "Back to Earth"

Re: Diablo 3
The fastest XP route I have found is typically just: Core (run it backwards), Tower of Damned 1, if you have at least 4 stacks -> Crater 2 -> Keeps 2
I run this on Mp4/5 right now, crater 2 takes like 2 minutes to run through and can net 4+ million xp without a hellfire depending on how many scorpions there are. Keeps 2 is loaded with xp too but I usually tele out and reset the moment I hit a long dead end so I don't waste too much time.
If you can run mp8 or higher, apparently just running crater 2 without NV stacks is actually like 2x faster than this.
This is the fastest route for gold/loot as well.Levelling is really secondary to farming gold for gear at this point. The levels will come. But thank you, that spot seems like it would be the best place to just take out loads of guys quickly.
Will hopefully get fixed in 1.08, but right now it's broken.
Either way, the only way to make real bank right now is wait for a set/legendary piece and sell it on the AH. Mostly luck tbh.

Re: Diablo 3
Two legendary items have dropped for me in D3. They were both useless and sold for under 10k. And you're probably right. I guess I'm not bored of the game to the point where I would rather run the same thing over and over again than just play through stuff. I've been running Act I MP1. I'm not having any problems, but it's clear that my dps isn't going to cut it once I get to like Act IV MP3 or something.
I'm slowly climbing up in dps. I put away my shield and completed the Bul-Kathos set for duel-wielding nonsense and got a tribal binding belt. Also picked up more attack speed with rings. My damage peaks at 42k with 5 stacks of frenzy, or 50k with a frenzied buff. My base attack speed is 2.09 lol. I'm looking for an eternal reign coat, vile ward, mempo, duncraig cross, and jousting mail. Long way to go just for "end-game gear" that I'll just replace with crit stuff later =/.Back to "Back to Earth"
