I just recently got back into D3 and I'm working my way through Act II Inferno. I'm trying to solo inferno with my barb. It's not easy, but I'm enjoying myself. It looks like at some point they incredinerfed attack speed. Attack speed with life on hit was the focus of my build, since it came naturally to synergize with frenzy. The main stats I've been stacking are str/vit/all resist/attack speed/life %/life regen. After a little experimentation I'm now able to handle elites pretty easily by staggering stuns with ground stomp and leap along with a passive stun chance I have from gear. I'm pretty scared of Belial. I'm considering going with more shouts and using the Inspiring Presence passive to gain about 1200 hp/second, or more if it stacks.

It would appear that crit builds are dominating the meta right now, but I haven't found any proof that it can solo effectively. Needless to say, leonid's damage makes me salivate. I'm still under 20k. However I do recover 620 hp/second and recover about 1300 hp/atk and I attack something like 1.7 atks/sec. So idk, maybe I'll live. I'm not looking forward to completely redo-ing my build to get more crit if that really is the only option.

I just got back into it myself. Ran myself through nightmare and hell this week. On inferno Act 1 now with something like 36k dmg and 32 hp. Not finding it overly difficult but I'm also not using monster power

I've upgraded my barb a bit more.





It looks pretty similar to my last one, but note that this is without battle rage, impunity, and enchantress. That's a big one.

I focused mostly on EHP, so that I can always stay alive to res the party members during ubers and stuff.

Now I can solo uber bosses and tank three molten explosions on mp10.

I can also kill Belial on mp10, without moving!

My next goal is 300k dps whilst retaining my 1.5mil EHP, but not sure how feasible that would be.

This may be a dumb question, but what does EHP stand for?

I have been continuing to solo through inferno on my barb. I remember inferno being harder than this. Did they nerf it or something? I stomped through Acts 2 and 3 with no real hiccups. Only deaths occurred late in Act 3 when elite fat shaman duders and spear thrower duders hit me at the same time. They had between them frozen, fire chains, arcane, desecrate, vortex, and others I'm forgetting. It was too much for me to handle. I can't be in super saiyan mode forever. I died twice while bringing down their combined health.

I also stood next to Belial, held left-click, and won. It was really anticlimactic. I didn't even bother changing my skills away from chain-stun stuff so I could retain my Valor stacks.

This is my barb right now, unbuffed.



I know I need more strength. Lots more strength. I'm working on it. Right now I'm just a slab of beef.

EHP is effective health pool.

Oh okay. Well I have plenty of HP. I'm not really worried about that. In fact I'd probably trade lots of my Vitality to get my Strength to a more respectable level.

EDIT: Well levelling will help. I'm only Paragon 6 right now. I have 282 innate strength still on the way.

If you want to increase DPS, you will need to stack crit chance and crit dmg at some point. Or you could go meatshield mode and stack 200k hp, 1k res and 20k armor or something... idk

Crit chance is especially important for barb because many of its skills are triggered on critical hits. You can also go super saiyan mode indefinitely if you have enough crit chance and attack speed

I just realized that Monster Power was a thing, and that I'm suddenly not as proud of my progress as I used to be, because it's probably defaulted to MP1. Oh well.

Yeah I'll have to start looking for crit gear if I want to optimize. Idk, I feel like if I can solo inferno, regardless of MP, I've "beaten" the game. If I need to get stronger, I'll optimize whatever later. Hopefully I can get through Act 4 with the end-game gear I had in mind.

Been playing this a lot again.

Wizard, 25 paragon. 170k dps, 5000 armor, 50k hp.

Really want to break 200k but it's expensive. Need to get an all resist pair of Zunimassa's so I can swap them for my ice climbers. Burned most of my gold on a witching hour though.

How the hell do some people make so much gold. o_o

If you need help doing MP5/6 runs I can probably lend a hand. I can solo MP9, maybe 10 - but for XP I'd recommend MP1 and for gear 5/6 because 8+ takes longer compared to what you'll actually get.
