Combat diversity was probably the biggest problem facing the game recently, but they seem to be moving in a better direction, even if accidentally. I've been experimenting with a ton of different seemingly viable DH builds. It's fun and reminds me of the old days.
I think one problem is simply 6 set pieces. Sets are extremely strong, as they should be, but by forcing you to equip 5 pieces of mandatory gear severely limits what other things you can use.
I guess I didn't have expectations for D3 though, I just wanted to have fun, and it delivered.
I also wouldn't call D3 unsuccessful. Pretty sure it has sold exceptionally well.
The auction house wasn't the problem. It was the fucking horrific drop rates that came with it.
I think they were both a problem. I suppose the AH was a bigger problem than it needed to be because of the drop rates, but an AH would still be annoying in the current game I think.
nearly p140, no gifts. Had about 10 last season @ 380. But then again, I also had no unities and other items like follower invincibility I wanted so badly.
To date I have still NEVER seen a witching hour, a furnace or an SMK despite maining witchdoc and wizzy for a long time.
Hadn't seen a tasker either, even after sinking 30k shards into gloves on my original doc, and then magically one dropped for me this season the moment I hit 70 when I don't even need one.
