I think Tasselfoot is just pissed off because there are so many files piling up and as a result is rejecting more files. He outright told us to stop sending files in the other thread.
i was joking about that BDN. send as many files as you want.
BUT... jx and i are being stricter. intentionally. we can afford to be. with 70+ songs in queue already, and easily EASILY 30 more (Even if we are uber strict) from this batch. that's 100+ files. and more just keep getting sent.
so, why shouldn't we be picky and ONLY take really really good, perfect files. basically... if we agree about even one note being out of place or missing, we're not accepting it.
I thought if there was one note off you said you would just fix it. The strictness will just keep going up and I'll never get a sim into the game, it seems like to me. Oh well, this way I'll be able to send you the same file 10000x before it finally gets accepted. The more you reject, the more we have to keep giving you as our attempts to fix them.
That's all good, but you need to keep in mind that you're not just supposed to have stuff that is just perfect for you. Not everyone is going to be pleased by every file. This is a game for everyone.

What I figure is, if you're a simfile artist, write them so that they're fun to you. If they aren't considered good by the judges, oh well. At least you've got a nice home-made simfile to play in SM. =)
Additionally, as with anything, if you enjoy what you're doing, it's bound to turn out better anyway. And with practice I'm sure you'll be able to breach the judging boundaries.

That's my mentality. I mean, I do conciously avoid 3-framers and stuff, but if they want me to do something that I think hurts the quality of the stepfile in order for it to be accepted. I won't do it.

If it has only tiny one problem like just a bit gap off or one note miss and the rest is good, we will + it and fix it. Except this case, we can't do.

It's impossible to make a file that can please everyone.
At least we need to avoid files that many people will hate.
3-framers are only allowed on consistently hard songs, especially classical ones with a good musical reason, this is our stance for now.
If the jack issue is fixed perfectly, this will be changed though.
Heh, just played my Canonized file and realized how long its been since I played it. All the rythems are correct, but theres a quite a few missing and miss placed jumps. Sorry Tass, if I would've played it sooner, I would've told you not to play it.

BDN, They judge sims off of feedback they receive on older songs. I believe this came up when Hi19 said his file should had made it in cuz the sim to Crowdpleaser made it in, and Tass said that CP didnt go over that well so no more CP-like steps. The people pretty much tell Tass, Shash, and JX what types of songs thy like
Hey, just an idea Tass, but maybe you should just halt acceptions for a while. It seems to me that there is a hell of a lot going on right now, and having over 50 files in the queue in my opinion is far too many at one time, especially with more coming in all the time. Maybe just stop until there is under 30 or something. That would mean that everything could be sorted out in a sufficient time frame, and would also give us some extra time to quality check our files!
One downside thogh; as soon as it's reopened you would have a STORM of files, so maybe limit the number of files from the same person in one batch. Maybe a maximum of 4 or 5, but when people give in 16 at once that's a little over the top. Sure, it means that you have a higher chance to get in, but it just causes so much grief for the judges. Surely you can wait just a little while longer, and release them in smaller bites?
your 2nd paragraph is the reason why i won't halt submissions. capping it for 1 batch... i may do that. i'll need to review some of the data from this batch after we're done, see how many files were accepted from those who submitted 5+ (3 people submitted at least 12).
