I'm now at that point where I'm playing my file over and over just to reassure myself that it is still an OK chart.
.-.
I've done it too, on Justin's engine, I see a few things I'll be fixing so I can resubmit next batch :3

If a song has no potential (such as the (most likely fictitious) one you described), then I suppose the file will be bad and thus you can say THAT is a bad song choice.
But you CANNOT reject a song based on how much you like the song. For example, say I hate most Dubstep, Rap, Pop, and J-Core/K-Pop/aznboi-sounding music. *cough*
I can't judge fairly on that.
I have never rejected based on song choice, but I stress the outcome of your steps is greatly influenced by the song. Make of it what you will

Yeah I suppose that's legit. Some songs just have very little potential for interesting steps.
You can still make fun files out of nearly every song, but they might not be particularly innovative or necessary in the overall scope of the game.
There's already quite a few files in FFR that are just straight 8th rhythms, for example.
I'm the only one who has confidence in my files.
Oh well, at least I am happy with them, **** everyone else, right?
this theory of simfiling is truly the best (and I'm not being sarcastic when I say this) -- if you enjoy your files, then that's great because you've done your job as a simfile artist...
...other people enjoying your files is just a nice bonus.
