2019 is definitely the year of the bump.

I would say practice what you think you aren't good at to the point where you feel like you're good at it.

Stamina plays a huge role when you get better and jumpstream helps reading abilities and can be stamina consuming when you first get into the nitty gritty of that part of playing so getting good a jumpstream knocks out two birds with one stone.

What I do is spam songs way outside of my skill range until I cannot play anymore. Doing that you start gaining a lot of stamina and you'll be able to read songs at a lower skill level a lot easier.

practice makes perfect, but perfect practice makes perfect faster. In general what I do is:

step 1. pick songs above your level that you can't play yet

step 2. think about why you can't play them, figure out if ur issue in playing things above ur level is because of difficulty in reading, or physical speed difficulty

(e.g. say you weren't looking at the arrows, would your fingers be able to physically trill or jack fast enough?)

step 3. If u can't hit the patterns because of not being able to read them but you know that you should be fast enough then practice playing the harder files with downrates (0.8-0.95x speed, etc), and gradually increase the speed until you can play them 1.0x (over a week or a few days or so, not in one session)

step 4. if u physically aren't fast enough to hit the patterns then just grind out your one hand trill and wrist jack speed by playing things just slightly above the speed you can do them at.

step 4a. it's possible to be limited by an un-optimal playstyle, its all subjective but it may be worthwhile to think and analyze how you play, key setup, sitting position, wrist up/down, arm up/down etc, and try to improve it.

Re: How to get better at FFR

                        bonus tips:

-play songs that you enjoy the music of, you'll probably acc them better

-try to have fun while playing and enjoy the game
-->don't always just play to improve, it is a game after all... improvement is fun but it can also be fun to just play cool songs/meme files/mess around with alternate keymodes like 6key, 7key, do stupid things like mash through things on dumb rates etc

-try to have a balanced skillset and to play everything, don't ignore certain pattern types etc because you're "bad at them", sure some skillsets translate to one another like jumpstream and stamina, but if you don't go out of your way to explicitly practice stamina then it won't just magically improve as fast as you'd like

-mindset and the mental side of mania can be just as important as the physical side, as in:
-->if you aren't focused, aren't feeling good, etc, and you start to feel or expect yourself to play bad, you most likely will play bad
-->adrenaline can help you stay focused while playing, e.g. imagine you get a great score for your standards and feel the rush, instead of stopping your playing and going out to tell your friends/family/pets, keep playing and ride off that adrenaline, sometimes it'll lead to more scores

-try to have a healthy lifestyle, sleep well, eat healthy and well balanced meals etc, try to set aside specific times for playing instead of just randomly having sessions whenever
-->e.g. whenever you play do it after waking up, having ur coffee, a good breakfast etc, while its still warm and bright out (imo morning/early day is the best time to play, humans are naturally more alert from the sun and being up early etc)

-ALWAYS warm up before playing. DO NOT just jump into playing things that would be pushing your skill, always always always warm up for a solid 10-20 minutes or so by playing things below your level for accuracy practice, and to ease into harder things
-->i really cant stress how important it is to not just jump into playing the hardest things u can and to ease into it. it doesn't matter if ur in division 2 or ur in division 6, always warm up
-->warming up will help ur consistency and improve your mindset when starting sessions (e.g. it feels better to get good accuracy scores then it does to try to smash things too fast for you at the moment, do poorly on them, think to yourself "wtf why am I so bad now I could play this yesterday, why can't I now, I suck etc etc" because the second you start thinking this ur just setting urself up to play bad

Re: How to get better at FFR

to me the game seems 50 percent physical technique and 50 percent reading.

try to follow arrows while having a visual of the whole space at the same time and utilize other muscles to do the heavy lifting to compensate for things the smaller muscles shouldn't have to do by themselves.

think of it like every arrow can be mentally processed as a movement or motion.

edit: another thing that took me 8 years out of as long as I've played up to now to learn was how to rist jack (jacks use to perplex me a lot) and I found out you do a lot more lifting of ur hands than pushing them down so that gravity does the key strokes for you essentially.

one hand trilling is a matter of thinking of you're individual finger joints as compound motion hinges were instead of you're fingers merely moving up and down you can add a third or fourth dimension to that to speed up dem fingers :P

editv2: also my last tip that I discovered regarding stamina pretty late in my arrow career was to flex you're biceps to losen you're fore arms and hands while you play. so long as you flex (no memes or puns intended (flex36i need some bitches) you can equalize the tension in you're arms. it is hard to maintain at times but can help push you through a long stretch of relentless smashing and can be done to find a sweet spot.
