Re: The Apocalypse is getting Ready.

I don't believe in the Apocalypse as described in the New Testament. Every culture has it's own end of the world scenario and every generation expects the end will come during their time...it's nothing new and relatively harmless unless you have enough people convinced that the end is actually near.

However, I do believe that inappropriate news coverage (to help spike ratings) is inadvertently scaring people and thus causing people to believe that the end is near, which it isn't.

No, the Garden of Eden is not believed to be in Iraq. Go here:http://www.ldolphin.org/eden/

The Garden of Eden is flooded under water.

According to the Bible, Christ will return on the 11th hour of the battle of Armageddon. Armageddon is believed to be fought at Megiddo, an ancient civilization that is now in ruins. This place saw many battles. This gives me reason to believe that Christ will return around 11 a.m. on the day we fight Armageddon. Megiddo, or reffered to as Tel Megiddo on maps now is located in Isreal next ti the plains of Esrealdon, the place where the Bible describes that the armies will build up before the final battle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megiddo_(place)

My belief, we will be drafted into WWIII and we will fight at Megiddo on that final day which I'm believing to be December 21st, 2012. The armies will be lead by the anitchrist. Christ will return that day. The ancient Myans, who were extroadinary astronomers calculated when the earth entered it's present age, or it's creation, and they calculated that a new age would begin on December 21st, 2012. "At 11:11 a.m. the sun will rise into a different position of the sky than it normally does. This will create an opening between the cosmos..." The Bible says Christ will return on the eleventh hour.

"The sixth angel poured his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up in order to prepare the way for the kings from the east. And I saw three foul spirits like frogs coming from the mouth of the dragon, from the mouth of the beast, and from the mouth of the false prophet. These are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty. (See, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and is clothed, not going about naked and exposed to shame.) And they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called Harmagedon.[3]"

We've got to do something about this, I know they're small and gross, but are we more vermin than a ****roach is? If we humans didn't exist this world would be perfect and beautiful, we are just ruining it.
Also, we are destroying the earth... now, there's going to be a time when the Earth destroys Us. More tsunami's, floods, tornados, etc etc etc will just kill us all and there would be no world left.
Can somebody please tell me I'm not the only one thinking about this? Cigarettes should be illegal for crying out loud, they're polluting alot and cars are, too. Wars aren't cool, either, the US also has a mental problem with competition, so the wars don't seem to ever stop with them.
Global Warming is preventable if we do something about it. And the world will end yes, but we can fight so it wont happen in any generations soon.

that was inspired by this thread. Go for it.

EDIT: in your little rant you listed cigarettes and cars. Cigarettes arent the major pollution, however you are kind of right. And you are right about cars to a degree. Car technology is advancing, and so are hybrids. Do you realize it takes 4 years for a concept car to become a production car? Manufacturers now a days have the environment and fuel mileage in mind when they are planning their cars, and you will see them in the coming years. Give it time. Besides, houses are the number 1 pollution source.

Re: The Apocalypse is getting Ready.

                I'm atheist. First off.
The 'Apocalypse' has nothing to do with the world ending. I guess I don't know more then anyone else here about global warming, but like I read before, the world goes through hot and cold stages. You or your children or your children's children aren't going to die from the world 'ending'. The only thing we may have to face is finding alternate fuel. And in finding alternate fuel, it will slow global warming, no?
Leaving god out of it, we're ruining the earth with polution.
But, I guess the way I look at it is that I won't die. I'll live a happy normal life. I suppose fuel might change in my life time...but that's about it.

Yes we need change, but the world isn't going to end in 30 years or anything. :]

Re: The Apocalypse is getting Ready.

The earth does go through heating and cooling periods, but not nearly as fast as it's going through one now. I don't think anyone is trying to deny that the earth does it naturally, but what people are saying is that we are speeding up the process...exponentially.

A lot of the worlds greenhouse gas, some ~30% of it comes from coal power in the united states alone. I am a huge supporter of nuclear power and would love to see us do away with those poisonous pieces of crap once and for all and go forward with a nuclear age.

However, nuclear power is expensive, and there's still a big gang of ignorant fools in opposition of nuclear power so things arn't really going to change. It's kind of obvious. Politically the change from coal to nuclear makes absolutely no sense, though we won't have to worry about our politics at all if we waste the planet.

Regardless of what kind of problems greenhouse gas does to the temperature/currents of the earth, the pollution we put into the atmosphere is also a problem. We poisoning the planet, and we're inevitably going to do ourselves in if we don't change our ways over the next few crutial centuries of development.

Re: The Apocalypse is getting Ready.

personally i think that God wouldn't end the earth until the time is right and the world is almost completely full of sin...
also mankind doesn't have the answers to everything and we depend too much on blind faith in the elements sometimes
at least religion has back-up... but media always seems to try and destroy it
yes tsunami's and earthquakes are signs of the end of the earth and this global warming sucks ass but again they've been happening for thousands of years
i think it is more meant to a certain extremity of power in these disasters

honestly it's all very confusing but also the devil is more the cause for destroying things as he will try to battle God ergo the flames and people going to hell (basically his soldiers) but being a religious man as i am i know for SURE that God will easily win the battle as there is NO ONE as powerful as him

I vow to use these abilities to win over evil and do my best to help those in need....

I bear same sentiments as Stephen Hawkings. Though currently not very realistic, but it may not be in the future.

Also, Humans need to further evolve and get rid of loose ends of the breeding waste. Otherwise, we indeed might wipe ourselves out.

World ends eventually anyway. Everything ends eventually. Including everything ever to exist on any galaxy in space. Why?

In every reaction, there is slight energy loss. This includes the sun, and trees, and anything you could ever think of. What happens when all the energy is gone?

This is one of Newtons observations i think.

In either case, the only End of the World theory i can think of that might happen soon is global warming, which is still controversial, but its better to be safe than sorry. Any other apocalyptic theory normally doesn't convince me.

Energy cannot be created or destroyed. The energy in the universe is the same as it was from the very beginning and will never change. The energy here isn't 'gone' per say, just converted into unusable energy

However, if WMAP is right (there is a lot of evidence to back it up) then there will be a 'big rip' in about 50 billion years where all of the matter in the universe will no longer be able to exist and everything will be converted to pure energy.

So I guess there's your inevitable apocalypse. Unless we figure out a way to go to other universes; I can't be one to speak of what is possible and what is not or what things will be like in 50 billion years XD
