Alright, time for a legit story.
When I was a kid, I was actually pretty bad, in terms of being respectful and whatnot. I had anger issues, and if something pissed me off, it fucen pissed me off like no tomorrow. Anything my parents did would have almost no effect. So, my mother got the great idea to take my books away. My books. Books were basically my life in middle school/freshman and sophomore year of high school. My mom did the thing that would affect me the most, and it worked. After the 2 weeks with no books, anytime I was disrespectful, all my mom had to say was "want me to take away your books again?"
He's already talked to his daughter about being disrespectful, and since the talking didn't work, he went and took something away that she obviously uses a lot. If this doesn't work, then there's something else going on that we can't see.
