I actually know a girl who is addicted to Coca Cola. It's the caffeine and when she doesn't drink any she gets terrible terrible headaches so I do believe it's comparable.

When I pass somebody that is smoking I will purposefully cough loudly because I don't appreciate having to walk in contaminated air due to somebody else's stupid choice. I also absolutely hate the smell.

ya the outside smoking communities are pretty cool. hardest part for me when i try to quit is being at a party and trying to hang outside with the smokers and not smoke a cigarette.

when you said you know a girl addicted to Coca Cola i thought you were talking about something a little more addictive haha. my addictive personality has me hooked on coffee/espresso tho, a day without a pot of coffee or 3-4 shots of espresso is hellish

I'm kind of the same way, except I don't cough loudly, instead I'll just walk really fast and cut the person off. You'd be surprised the lack of respect people in the city have.. just smoking while walking down the sidewalks, with no concern for the people walking behind them. Shit pisses me off.

I honestly have no problem with people who smoke in public, so long as they do so in a designated smoking area. Even so, you're missing the point. The fact that they smoke on sidewalks isn't what pisses me off, but rather the fact that they have little to no consideration for people around them.. in this case people behind them inhaling second hand smoke.

Second hand smoke is actually more deadly than smoking itself. That's why I hate it. Glad they banned it in bars because my family always liked sitting on the bar side of restaurants and I couldn't stand it because of the smokers.

You obviously have no room to talk about someone being a moron. Amusement parks, schools, anywhere around children there are designated areas. They are actually starting to make designated smoking areas in cities as well. Don't talk down if you don't have the correct information yourself.

dont get me wrong, at amusement parks and other similar places i smoke in the right spots. if im smoking and someone asks me to move i'll move. i respect the fact that people dont enjoy having people smoke around them but if people smoking on the streets of a fucking city bothers you there is a problem. inside i can understand second hand smoke bothering you but outside the shit just floats away get real

Second hand smoke is actually more deadly than smoking itself.

This is why people should be more considerate. My friend's father has stage 3 lung cancer and he never smoked a cigarette in his life, yet his wife and his mother did and they both don't have anything wrong with them. Take this into consideration next time you smoke down the street and blow it in someone else's direction.

If there's an area where you shouldn't be smoking, don't smoke.

If there's no marked areas in said facility, or no rule/ban in place, and the smoke bothers you, just move away. It's not the responsibility of the smoker to move if they aren't doing anything wrong, especially if they are there first. If a non-smoker tells a smoker to move, then common courtesy would be to go somewhere else.

laws here forbid you from smoking within 10 meters of any public building, and some even force you to go somewhere in the parking lot.

I was driving to school today and my sister pulled out a pack of cigarettes. I told her not to smoke that shit around me because of the effects of secondhand smoking. I quit smoking and I kept it that way ever since.

If I'm just wandering around a city and somebody around me is smoking, there isn't really anything I can do about it. There are worse things that could happen to me anyway.

However when I'm walking to class on a campus that has designated smoking areas and I can't avoid it, there's a problem and that makes me mad. In fact, I just got done walking back to my room from a meeting and got stuck downwind of somebody smoking.
