The problem I had with that though is the Windows maximized just leave a bunch of open space between the bar and the window. Also my school is giving me the legit version of W7 so I will try this out soons.

EDIT: This was fixed in the final release it seems. It's nice.

I'd say the marginal gains are primarily to the lower-end-hardware users. The gains for the higher-end hardware under Win7 are minimal at best.

If you are running Windows 7 with Aero on full blast and are able to play FFR and SM with zero lag, please raise your hand and describe your hardware setup and your software and BIOS settings.

Well now I'm using the full version of Windows 7 and I'm not getting these bull**** errors I got with the RC. Only problem I had was my fault because I was a retard and forgot to install my NVidea driver and was raging when I was running WoW at only 30FPS when I usually get over 100.

I think it's impressive that the drivers that come with windows 7 can run anything at 30 fps.

It's just WoW xD but yeah, these drivers are pretty good. Don't have to run up into my sisters room to get onto the router, just so I can get the WLAN driver on a 800x900 resolution on a 22" widescreen.

Default everything on my Toshiba satellite. Never had lag problems on Vista OR 7 ever.

You should probably see if you can get any Windows 7 drivers for your hardware. Toshiba I Would assume has better hardware for these 3rd party drivers as they don't have any fruity hardware. The other drivers would still give you a better performance though.

I dunno, I only get stuff like that if my friend says I need it, otherwise, my laptop runs fine for the things I do on it (I don't play alot of games on here I might add.)

Why? Nobody gives a **** about anybody's opinion if they don't give a reason for it.

I have a question about Windows 7... My brother recently got copies from his college or something, so I moved all my files over to this computer... including, like, my StepMania files and stuff. Well, I was working on a stepfile on this computer and wanted to send it to a friend for testing... and not until later do I realize that the file that was sent to him was the one that I had originally taken from the old computer.
I did a search to see if the updated files were being saved in another folder, and it turned out that was the case... I found the right file in
                              C:\Users\Matthew\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\StepMania\Songs

Does anyone on here know how to make it so where StepMania will automatically save to the Program Files location on Windows 7? My Google-fu is poor, and someone on here's probably encountered this problem... so uhm, yeah.

                                I feel like that's a Stepmania question rather than a W7 question.

Just to clarify, you want to change the directory that Stepamnia's editor saves too, right?
