I never self-reflect, and therefore, I have no negative thoughts about myself. However I am also aware about my successes.
I don't agree with this protest. Not only do I not like the idea of the protest itself, I just don't like the gays. I think it's immoral and wrong. Sure it may be a choice, but raping, torturing, and dismembering a Christian baby is also a choice.
Anyway, I probably could get away with doing this--I'm one of those shy types at school, even around my friends, and I don't really answer questions at school unless absolutely nobody else knows. Usually, that's not the case.
Either way, it shouldn't be hard for me to do this at all.

Wait, what the ****? Since when did gays commit such horrid acts?
I agree with the few sporadic posts in this thread saying that "silence isn't going to get anybody's attention".
I'm neutral on the homosexuality issue, but somewhere inside me, my inner redneck is saying, "Nobody cares about some queer-lover who refuses to talk." People will go about their daily lives without paying much attention to you who will not speak.
I don't pay much attention in history, but I know that there were plenty of movements across the first half of the 20th century to eliminate racial segregation in the USA, and they eventually worked. Perhaps if the concerned parties borrowed methods used back then, they could be put to good use.

this is true to a certain extent. I agree with you because of the minuscule amount of people participating but if it somehow managed to envelope millions of people around the country, that would def get the attention of people. But getting millions of people to actually do this is not something i see in the near future.
Since April 17th is on Friday, I have class from 9am-12pm then 2pm-5pm.

I don't think that making other people accept your sexual orientation through protest is the best way to go.
Its a mental discrimination, and you can't ''force'' a mind to change. As far as legal issues go protest works, but not because you are changing their opinion.. it works for the sake of profit or general approval that would be reduced otherwise...
It's not a movement, really. We do it as a way to persperent the silence the gay community has endured. It's a symbol. Most other ideas wouldn't persperent the silence -- but would spark a movement. Obviously, a movement is needed. That's just not what this is.
