The REAL Ultimate debate: Mac vs. PC

Yes, the timeless battle. The superior PC verses the inferior Mac! Post reasons why you think Mac sucks. Or, controversially, post reasons why you think the PC is better.

Personally, I think the only good thing Apple has produced are iPods and niftylicious speakers and monitors (I would say mouses too, but they dont have a button! How the hell are you supposed to press it!!!??).

Oh, and if anybody mentions photoshop, that just means they're reeeeally reaching.

lol this is a very good battle to post about anticrombie. Here are my thoughts on this: MAC SUCKS BALLS EXCEPT FOR WHATEVER ANTICROMBIE HAS JUST POSTED ABOVE, and PC is better......

I used one of those G5s at my school one time. I will give it one thing that it was good for: Flash. Not to say flash doesn't work on any other computer properly, but it was completely smooth. That's probably because Mac only focuses on the crap like that. Every other part of the computer was all for show. Nothing else was any good.

My new computer will blow the G5 away anyway. And I don't even need Flash on the computer, so it would be a waste of time and money to even consider purchasing "the world's fastest PC". Beat a 3.4 ghz P4 with 256mb video card you crappy clear computer. And while you're at it, THINK about having a second clicking device. Or 5 like some real mouses are now.

Honestly. I hate the single click mouses. I mean, how do you use them? Argh! Beyond that, I love how Mac loves to overstate things. They claimed the G4 was the fastest computer in the world, and what was that clocked at? Barely 1.8? Now the G5, which again, they not only claim is the fastest computer in the world, they're also saying it's the only system with a 64 bit architecture, which is plainly not true. Plus, in tests it barely benched 2.4 without overclocking, so I'm not sure what they're playing at.

There's only about 2 things I can say that I like about macs: once again, Flash. Try playing FFR on a eMac or an iMac, it doesn't seem as choppy when the arrows come up, but that's just my opinion. Another thing is that the new ones look cool (Y) aahah.

But yeah, PCs win forsure. I've got my modded ps2, a pc with a dvd burner, what else can I ask for?

I'm with LD on this one. Beowulf in particular is fun.

But Macs are, I think, based on Unix. But they still suck.

I'm a windows and PC's kind of person.

Also, you can't really use an AMD with a Mac. It doesn't work. It's not right. Seriously.

So, go Windows. And PCs.

PC's are cooler.

Windows does have a monopoly.. and it is nice and easy to use... however.. for my programming aspects, i use linux, because it kicks windows ass.

However.. i spend 90% of my time on windows

However, Macs do look pretty spiffy....that's it.
That's all Macs are for, simple people. Simple people and video editors.
By the way, Macs are based off of FreeBSD, so it's not a complete failure, but the holocaust wasn't either, so that's not necessarily a good thing.

Macs can do simple stuff- you know, Photoshop, typing, whatever. But if you're trying to do anything the least bit complicated, good luck.

I don't neccessarily like windows, either. I have XP, and holy hell, what a system hog it is. Just running the OS will use a good half of your CPU's processing ability, and at least a third of your RAM. Beyond that, they made it really idiotproof, which is good for the idiots, but it sucks for us people that actually know what we're doing because XP makes it a lot more difficult than it needs to be. And if you modify your system at all, XP bitches at you.

Yeah, anything beats a mac, though.

This is NOT the ultimate debate. I know 50 other forums where this would be instantly locked because there's a difference between debate and flaming the bejeezus out of each other because they think PC is better than Mac and vice versa.

This forum hasnt hit this problem, for some reason.

Nevertheless. REAL Ultimate, this is not.

And quit using the word "Ultimate," it's giving my stuff a bad name. You just might kill it.
