Well, PCs due to their versitality. But I have had bad experiences with Windows sucking.

So it really all depends on what I want to do.

Work: Mac (Music production, Image Design, Animation, Video Editting, etc.)

Play: PC

I'm currently a PC user as I like how you can customize every part easily and for less money, but I'm thinking my next computer will be a Mac. They just own PC's for lots of heavy media work. Look in any music studio and you'll see macs in there.

arent Macs cheaper? i thought that was why they werent upgradeable at all, because they were made in a cheap way so that u couldnt even open the case or something. idunno, that was a while ago. Macs look cool, are cheaper (i think), and do media stuff. i prefer the PC

oh, and alota people dont like the Windows monopoly, but really, monopolies are good for OSs. just think if there were a dozen or so to choose from? every piece of software would have to be written several times to work with all of them, and u'd have to be sure ur game would work with ur comp. like, with 3 game consoles u'll always hear people being like "man, i wish i could play that, but i dont have an XBox, just a PS2" or "crap, it's coming out for Gamecube!? dammit, i wanted to get and play that." thats why multiple good OSs would be a terrible terrible thing. game companies would take sides and u'd need several comps to be able to play every game out there. it would suck, which is why i'm glad Bill Gates has his lil monopoly

Wow, someone supported a monopoly and made a good point; THE END OF THE WORLD IS COMING!!!!! However, you lose points, because macs are now shitloads expensive and you thought they were cheap.

No. If you buy a G5, the fasest mac, you'll pay at least $2000 (for the cheapest G5). That $2000 will buy you duel 1.8 Ghz processors (no, you idiots, that does not mean it runs at 3.2 Ghz), 256 Megs DDR400 Ram, an 80 Gb HD, and an nVidia GeForce 5200 64 Mb Video Card. That's for $2000.

You spent that much on a PC, you could snag yourself an AMD 64 3400+, 1024 mb Dual Channel DDR400 RAM, at least an 160 Gb HD, and at least a Radeon 9800 Pro 128 Mb. Which would you rather have?

I don't know much about Macs... but the main problem with Macs is that their existance provokes arguments and threads trying to figure out whether Macs or PCs are better when we all know that... well... you have the freedom to buy a Mac... but they're more of a collectors item than an actual computer vs. PCs.
